Shelving for a tent

Is there anyone that has any ideas on how to build easily portable, lightweight, shelving that can be assembled at the campsite.  I have a problem with everything (pots, pans, groceries, etc) lying around on the tent floor.

My tent doesn't have poles on the inside, so I can't hang anything.

Thx

That is a rather big problem with tents, I suggests that you go to the nearest outdoorworld or campworld agents to see if they have something . I normally look in the getaway or caravan and outdoor magazines.

Hope this could help you.

Thanks.

You can get very lightweight shelving, that folds up for easy transportation, from any Caravan Dealer or Campworld outlet.

The only problem is that it is fairly expensive.

Otherwise, get some cheap plastic veggie racks (the three tier one-on-top-of-the-other type, which is readily available at big department stores, and doesn't cost so much.)

I found a easy way to overcome a shelving problem is the following.
1) Take four or more pieces of plywood or
8mm masonite. +_ 300mm X 600mm.
2) use 6mm nylon rope.
now drill 6mm holes through the plywood at each
corner.
Thread a rope through at each corner and put
a knot about every 400mm from the bottom of the shelf. Then thread the next shelf and repeat.
I then fold the whole thing up and when we arrive
at our camping spot, I just hang it from an open window inside the tent.

Hi Iain, buy yourself the plastic stack drawers form Makro/Game/PicknPay.  It is about R150 for 3 drawers. You get them in variuos colours.  This way you pack everything in the drawers, and just assemble the framework (plastic) when you get there and slide drawers in.  When we camped with trailer and tent, I had the 3 drawer (2 of them) assembled and packed in the Venter trailer.  I had a drawer for cutlery, pots, groceries, etc.  Now I still use them in the caravan, because we only put up the rally tent.  Instead of getting in and out of the van all the time, we put the 2 x 3 drawers outside and everything is at hand.  I find this works the best for me (very relaxed when camping).
