As julle wil seevakansie hou, mense Salt Rock is die kamp!!

Ek gebruik sommer 'n sokkernet Bob. Hy werk net so goed.

Hi Bob, We have stayed at Dolphin on the North Coast, very neat park. It is not on the beach but in town surrounded by indigenous trees. There is a lovely walk through the indigenous tree to a very nice restaurant. We went with a group of people and decided to do breakfast there. I found the camp sites a bit close. For the price there are other places I would rather go to but that is our preference. We camp one weekend a month and every long weekend so price and value for money is important.
Although we live South of Durban we personally do not like the beach, so when we go camping we normally don't camp where there is no protection from the sea breeze. We have not camped at Salt Rock as it is too open for us, But it depends on what you are looking for. Some people love Salt rock and other dislike it because it is directly on the beach. Because of Marshall who is an 8yr old blind and disabled child we prefer a more sheltered camp so he can sit outside in his wheelchair. So it all depends on your circumstances. We are going to Ifafa (South Coast) in September and that is right on the beach but there are trees between the camping area and the sea. The entertainment area and play area has no trees between them and the sea, so you have the best of both worlds. Scotttburgh is also right on the beach, but the camp is large so you can either camp right on the edge of the sand or further back. We also like Happy Wonders at is also has indigenous trees between the camp and the beach.
All the above parks are right on the beach. Some you can see the sea from your van and others you can't. If you want to sit outside your van and look right on to the sea then Salt Rock (North Coast) is ideal. I am glad to hear your positive response about the park and maybe we will  take a drive and go and have another look.
Happy future camping.
Regards MArg

SALT ROCK
