Hi All

Just a warning to all of you that are coming to the Kruger National Park over the Festive season. There will be a permanent police road block in and around Hazyview from now until the 16th of January. At present, it is located as you enter Hazyview on the R40 at the junction with the R538. They are not chekcing weights of vehicles but they are chekcing speeding fines, weapon licenses, drivers licenses and any illegal items or anything that may be of interest. It can cause quite long delays, so be patient if you are coming via Nelspruit/White River along the R40. If you decide to try to miss it and you came via Sabie down the R536. be careful for potholes as there are many, especially as you go pass the Kiepersol/Blue Mountain Lodge turnoff. Some are deep and small and there are sections where they are across the whole road so drive very carefully. It is best to keep to the left and drive partly in the yellow line. DO not drive it at night is you do not know this road. Hope this is helpfully to anyone coming down to Kruger over the Festive season.

They had last December huge roadblocks on the N3 as well. It suits me...keep the drunk drivers off the road and drivers without licences and vehicles that are not roadworthy. The one just before Harrismith had a delay of more than 1hour.....rather this than innocent people getting killed.....

If they do their job properly i have no problem, but it is mainly making money for their own pockets.

Ag nee, is net `n gerond neukery. Sit onder bome en vertraag almal. Hulle hoort op die pad.

Thanks, coming through from Sabie on Sunday - will look out for it.

"I have never thought much of the courage of a lion tamer. Inside the cage he is at least safe from other men. There is not much harm in a lion. He has no ideals, no religion, no politics, no chivalry, no gentility; in short, no reason for destroying anything that he does not want to eat."
