Road trip to Yellow Sands Camping, East London from Durban
Good day,
last week of April, my wife and I and my dog are doing our annual camping roadtrip, this year thinking of going to Yellow Sands outside East London, it has been many years since I last travelled that way, so now unsure of the roads..
I plan to use the N2 all the way, just wanted to know from anyone what to expect on the roads, what are the general conditions, any advice would be helpful..
Most likely will be towing a small trailor, plan to leave early hours of a sunday morning..
Regards,
Roy
The road conditions are excellent, there was a stop and go between Harding & Port Shepstone (October 2022) and Sunday is the best day to travel through Transkei.
Agree with Rare Breed - Sunday the best day to travel through the Transkei, especially Mthatha.
Also advise you to lock your trailer to the towbar - small trailers are prone to be stolen behind your back when doing a pit-stop.
Been there--done it. ( Talking about the bathroom )

Thanks Mawong. I plan to do this route from the south next month and have been considering which route to take.
