George at Margate.
I see you have questions about the above mentioned road?
The road the whole way is in very good condition from Port Shepstone to Kokstad.
From Kokstad to East London it is also in very good condition.
If you take the Kokstad to Elliott route and then from there to just soth of Butterworth, and then on to East London, the route is 200 km further, so you would preferably need to sleep over somewhere.
There is a farm Camp Site just south of Maclear or the Golf Course in Maclear to use as over night stops.
I would rather recommend going straight through on the first option, but do try going through Umtata as early as possible in the mornings. Sunday morning is the best option.
We are camped at UNTA Palms (Voetplaat Park), 10 km north of Port Shepstone, my number is zero83four551seven97. We also drive around quite a bit, especially if the weather is bad, otherwise we could be on the beach...
thanks edge, looking forward to meeting you guys on Thursday
