Just got back from a few nights at Areena. Must admit I was disappointed. The appearance is unkempt and really looks like it could use a lot of TLC. It also has many permanent caravans that look very sad under enormous pvc awnings. Looks like where old caravans go to spend their last years.

Took a trip down to Yellow Sands and must say it looks awesome!

Thanks for the info Patrick.  We are considering East London area next year and was wondering about Areena or Yellow Sands.  How far from East London are these camps?

I am glad to see I have a fellow Lions supporter in the Eastern Cape.  There arn't many of us around here.laughing

Probably about 25kms from East London but even closure to the suburban shopping centres. The centre of East London is in a sad state of decay.There is a very nice Spar and some other shops at a centre about 8 kms from these resorts so you don't have to go near EL.

Agree with you on those parks Camel Man.  We have just spent two months on the East Londen and Transkei coast.  This is lovely area to camp in.  The scenary is "to die for" as the kids say, and the weather very mild.  Sea water seldom dip below 20°C.

Freda we are working on our reports and photos of parks around EL and will post them to our website before the end of the month.

A vey nice park in that area is Rendezvous. They have private bathrooms, beautiful setting and very peaceful.

Thanks.We only saw it after we had booked in to Areena. What we have come to realise is that one can never go by pictures on a website as they could have been taken years before.
