Hi, Has anyone been to voetplaas caravan park www.voetplaaspark.co.za in Kzn. We are looking for a quick weekend getaway this Month. We want to take our parents, (in their 80's) and they have private abulition with private kitchens.
Surely you mean Voetplaatpark Caravan Park which is situated on the South Coast? www.voetplaatpark.co.za
Hi Marius, Yes you are right. Voetplaat Caravan Park. www.voetplaatpark.co.za Can you tell me anything about this caravan park.
Hi I have never camped there but Feb 2011 I wnet to have a look at the resort was not bad at all from what I saw however you dont have a sea view. Also with the bushes infront I would presume you will be well protected against wind
Hi,I know this sounds crazy but we live on the South Coast but dont particilarly like going on the beach, especially if you have to cross the railway. I quick walk down to the beach is as much as we normally do. We love camping and like to get away for a weekend every month on our own and one a month with the our camping club. We like to just chill out, relax, read, braai & have one or two sundowners, swim in a pool when hot. For our weekend getaways we dont like traveling to far. If the Voetplaat is protected from the wind that is great, we dont have to see the sea. We are just looking for a nice shaded, grassed site, with good ablutions and a restaurant. Anyone know if their restaurant is any good as we thought we would spoil ourselves and eat out the first night and then the normal braai the second night. Is there anyone from KwaZulu Natal that has been to Voetplaat.
The last time I was there it was a very nice park with good security, a lovely tidal pool, a nice restaurant and clean ablutions. If the restaurant is not operating then there are very nice restaurant's close to the camp.
Thanks for the reply. I think we will give the place a try. We will check if the restaurant is open first. We dont want to trek around the country side looking for a restaurant but would prefer to eat on site as we have a disabled 7 year old who will be with us. We will inquire if the restaurant is open before booking.
We have been there -- but only camping in a tent. We stayed at one of the executive sites, having our own private ablution. The caravan park was wonderful. The pool was a pleasure. The staff were polite and helpful too. And --- its right on the beach. Restaurant within walking distance. Well maintained -- certainly worth a visit! GOOD LUCK :)
