Hi Folk, has anyone got any recommendations or warnings about campsites in the Bredasdorp area. Planning to visit Napier, Bredasdorp, Agulhas, Struisbaai, Arniston.

Many thanks,

Ginger

I would say Struisbaai is a good base to explore the vicinity.  It is a pleasant little town with all amenities.     You have two municipal parks in the town, both old but reasonably well kept and of acceptable standard.  They are both open to unwanted 'visitors' but we have had no problems or heard of any.  This is a peaceful part of the country.  The one is at Struisbaai itself, and the second one a few kilos further at La-Agulhas, just about right under the La-Agulhas light house.  We prefer the latter one as it is a bit more protected against the wind, which is a big factor in that area.  Bredasdorp itself also have a municipal park which looks OK, but we have no specific knowledge of this one.  We also have experience of the Arniston (Waenhuiskrans) caravan park which also is of acceptable standard and much more protected from the wind but somewhat deplete of shops.  But is is a pleasant town and certainly worth a few days' stay.

Dankie Flip.

I had looked at your site before asking the Forum. I hoped that someone might have more up-to-date information. I think those places all have municipal parks, which can be dicey.

Stay safe.

By the way, our last visit to Struisbaai was late 2019, so you can say our information is more or less current.
