Was baie mooi..

Oord is netjies..

Ek was verbaas..

Ek moet sê Hlalanathi is baie lekker oord. BAIE RUSTIG..

Was weer by Didima Resort by Cathedral Peak... Hier is so paar fotos..

Hier was ons gevang...

Haha...

Swembad, klimrame, vakansieprogram..

Hi Brommer we love Hlalanathi and started visiting in the early  80,s till the year 2000.

Say the park grow from humble beginnings to what it is today and got to know the owners namely the van Rensburg family very well .We used to have stand number 5 and visited, at least twice a year including Xmas every year .

Its a lovely park and we  enjoyed the hikes in the Royal Natal park ,actually we have completed every single hike route a number of times over, including the climb to the top of mont aux sources a number of times.

Anyway the legs have become older and we now concentrate on the Kruger Park.

Your lovely photos makes me wonder if I should not visit Hlalanathi again?

Thanks for bringing back old memeories.

wink The thing is I have only camped with my parents a very few times in the Drakensberg. So we never really had the chance to explore all the places.. Now that I have my own kids, I have the opportunity to take them with us and let them explore it with us.. Although they are small it is something we want to encourage for them. My 4yr old still speaks of the waterfalls, the hiking and what she saw..

I think each and every resort / camp site definitely adds their value to the Drakensberg, and each and every one we've visited so far we will visit again in future.. Especially if we decide to go to the coast in KZN... That worked great for us stopping in the mountains a few days on the way down and the way up..

When you drive away from the coast you dont feel like the holiday is over ;-)

We are planning to visit most campsites in the area to experience each one and when we have been to all then just alternate between sites each time. The time we have with our children to do these things are very limited, they grow up too fast already.

You are so right we did the same on our holidays back from the south coast with our children  ,stayed at Hlalanathi or Dragons Peak and it just felt a lot better then simply going straight home. Hlalanathi grew on us and with the kids growing up the sea was not that big an attraction anymore ,but the mountains kept calling and the variety of hiking paths became an enjoyment and challenge.

So talking to my wife this morning we are intending to include Hlalanathi in our plans again.

Good on yer!

Planning one last long trip after the Kgalagadi in May and having never done Natal, it will be on our itinerary after a Kruger "circus loop" (southern section) visit. Hlalanathi and Dragon Peaks amongst others are camps I have earmarked as definites. Champagne Castle and the Amphitheatre are a must see in my book. Thanks for the photos. Seems a good time was had by all!
Soet wees!

WAARSKUWING:

Was baie lekker..
