Hi All. I’m looking for advice regarding travelling from Kuruman to Twee Rivieren. I was thinking to take the shortest route, the R31, via Vanzylsrus, but I don’t even know if it is tarred or gravel? If it is gravel, in what condition is it? Is it better/safer to go via Upington? Any input will be appreciated, thanks!
The road was very corrugated gravel and in bad condition, so if you have fillings in your teeth, rather avoid it.
Kuruman is also crime infested, so avoid stopping in this town, if at all possible, if you want to avoid problems.
If you need to overnight, then use Monata Lodge Camp site, about 10 km north of Upington, or,
Kalahari Lodge Camp, just outside Twee Rivieren, for an early entry into the Park...
Agree with campervan rather go via Upington, done trip April from Gauteng sleep over Upington had breakfast at Spur next morning and straight to Twee Revieren.
