Hi All

I recently inherited a 2012 jurgens exclusive. There seem to be something wrong with the lights. All the plugs work 100% but when turn the lights on, they blink for a second then turns off. If multiple lights are on then they all blink and then turn off again.

Then there are two small downlight type of lights above the bed and when turned on they are very dim.

Any ideas on what could be wrong or where to look?

Ja, welcome Johno!

I think, being the weekend, all the above electricians are out campingwink

However I would start looking at the earth circuit.

Ek is nie krag kundige nie....maar kyk of konneksie goed is by DB. Omdat jy noem dis al jou ligte, klink of dit dan vanaf die hoof oorsprong is?

The battery could be nearly dead from old age and is drawing most of the power the charger can deliver.

What you can try is to disconnect the battery and try the lights just using the DB charger. If they work then replace the battery. Remember to switch off the 240 volt input before you disconnect the battery or you might get a surge to the DB charger.

Welcome Johno,

Measure the voltage at the light with it on and off. Also measure when you turn other lights on and off. If it drops when you switch the light/s on measure the voltage at the battery terminals. If it drops/becomes low then the battery is finished. If not, you have a wiring or charger problem. You can also monitor the battery voltage with the built-in battery monitor next to the dinette on the wall by the plug.

The battery charger in the Exclusive is an Apollo 10 which can deliver 10A. Your battery must be very bad to pull the charger so low that it cannot supply enough for the lights. Or your Apollo battery charger is faulty. If you isolate the battery (rotary switch in the battery cupboard) with the mains on and the lights don't work your Apollo battery charger is faulty.

The wiring for the lights run anti clockwise from the Apollo box to the 4-lever light switch on the left wall by the door. From there switched wires run clockwise to each of the lights. The lights above the double bed feed off the anti-clockwise permanent 12V. All earthing is done in the Apollo DB box. You can access the wiring in the cupboards or by removing the lid of the plastic channeling on the floor.

Hope this helps.

Groete,
Paul

Hi Johno, also check if your fuses make contact inside the holders on the Apollo box. Willsur on this forum cut pen springs shorter and install inside, this reduce the chances of fuses not making contact within the fuse holders.

Ag dankie Danie.

Ek wonder of n' mens n' bedraading diagram en schematiesde uitleg by Jurgens kan kry? As jy daar in die boendoes is en iets will nie werk nie sal dit baia help.

Groete,
Paul

Hi Guys. Finally got to try the advice given to me. I tried a new battery and replaced the fuses and the lights are back on besides the one in the cabin but i think it may be from blown globes. Thank you again for the advice.

I haven't got a apollo power supply/db board but a hercules 10. Have any of you possible have a manual for it?
