After a super stay at Tsendze, we got to Letaba for 5 days. We know there is a shortage of water and that the Park is very dry but the camp site was a disgrace. Then the ablutions were not cleaned for two days until my good lady took all of her toys and marched off to the office! Was the camp manage available? Of course not! Was the so called hospitality manager available? Her jacket was there but she managed to escape! However that evening a truck load of cleaners appeared and the block was cleaned. End of story? Never! The paper towel dispensers were replaced with blow driers, good idea, except, yes you guessed it, nobody told the electrician so the ability to dry your hands was neatly suspended. Our friend visited Letaba two weeks later and tell us nothing has changed. SANPARKS has started making such good improvements but obviously they have not reached Letaba yet! Recommendation - Change your booking for another camp - Quickly!

Strange that Letaba should get negative publicity. I was based at Satara last week. On Tuesday 15th September, we headed for Letaba to "case the joint" We were so impressed, we decided to camp at Letaba for the remaining few days. The manager was very quick to make sure that we were efficiently taken care of (transfer of booking etc)and the ablutions were spotless. Very friendly staff.

They must be starting the upgrade in the far North, because your Letaba complaint sounds similar to the one we had at Berg en Dal. Can you imagine what the palce is going to look like after 2010. I Put my complaint on the SanParks web site forum.

sad to report that it is now 2013 and nothing in the park has changed. after the floods last year there was a golden opportunity to fix the wrongs but nothing was done. if you are lucky enough to get a spot on the fence the chance tat you will also get a power point is not good. unfortunately management are unable to grasp the concept of management and being proactive. please fix the camps

Just returned from 10 days there. Powerpoints are still an issue : while we were there, they replaced the boxes to shiny new stainless steel ones, but still the same number of plugs!! The dryers in the toilets were still unplugged...However, they were cleaned quite regularly, and despite the park being packed full, the ablutions were normally decent.
The only thing that caught me off guard was that my teenagers were forbidden to ride their bicycles : they usually only ride early in the morning, and are very considerate .....apparently there is a No bicycles' rule in Kruger...we have been to Berg-en-dal many times, and this rule was never enforced there...

the no bikes rule has been in place for many years - but obviously some camps are frankly just to "slap" to enforce it. i, (unpopularly probably) agree with it as it also applies to plastic sooters which make a lot of noise.
