Yes, had a Disco 4 for 5 years towing my Regal, good tow vehicle, no problems. Competent but certainly not economical.

The diesel, a 2011, so it was called SDV6 at the time. With 180kw and 600nm you are nor going to feel underpowered. It was the 6 speed auto, always felt it is too slow to change back when towing, but to do it manually is easy.

That is a very nice motor! Much more powerful than the 2.7 so maybe also more thirsty?
What oil do you use in yours?

Lol Yes. i got myself confused.
I have been researching oils to use and apparently we need to use Liqui Moly Special Tec F 5W30 or Shell Helix Ultra ECT 5W30 all of which is very expensive.

Ja us TDV6 owners need to use the more advanced oils to protect the TDV6 engines but i dont use any additives whatsoever because the Castrol is a full synthetic oil

You are making me scared by talking about the fuel pump. I hope it isn't a common fault.
I wanted to ask you what tyres you use and where you buy your spares from?

Fanatic no i dont think the fuel pump in the tank is a common fault my Indie said that mine was the first one he had done .You have to take the tank out to fit the pump .I buy my spares from LP4A  here in Durban i see they have a branch in JHB .I use the Pirilli scorpion ATR 255/60/R18 and very happy with them

Dassie I believe Dover Spares here in Johannesburg are very cheap. The Pirelli Scorpion is a popular tyre as it is not as expensive. I have Bridgestone Dueler Sport tyres on but want to try Michelin next. I am looking at where a person can get cheaper oil. I dont like Castrol and am thinking Of Liqui Moly or Shell Helix and am wondering if Goldwagon wont be cheaper

My gesegde is altyd:

My huidige sleep voertuig is 'n Disco 4 V8. Beter sal jy nie kry nie!!

With 180 000 on the clock my Freelanders tank fuel pump gave the ghost. I had it replaced and at the same time replaced the electrical pump in the engine bay. The one in the tank comes complete with level sensor and float. The total cost was below R7000 which I felt was very reasonable

On the Freelander 1 it can be changed from below the seat instead of removing the tank.

Dis hoekom mens eerder 'n Land Rover ry!
