The first day of our trip we travelled from Centurion - Mokopane - Martins Drift Border post. The drive was quick and easy with little traffic except going through Mokopane in the morning and we arrived at Kwa Nokeng by midday. Next time we will continue farther to Francistown or maybe Nata. Border formalities were completed in 35 minutes.
We spent the first night at Kwa Nokeng. The lodge can be rated as a 3 star - nothing great but nothing bad. Security is good, they provide dinner in the evening and there is a filling station and Barcelos at the entrance. Try to get to this filling station with minimum fuel - it's about R3 a liter cheaper in Botswana. The only thing that was annoying was it's proximity to the border post and the noise from the endless number of trucks passing by.
