Baie dankie. Maurits van Rooyen
the road from pongola to kosi bay is not in a bad condition, in fact its not in a bad condition at all. we always camped at the parks board camp site on 3 rd lake, we camped in a tent as we always had a boat in tow. however im not sure that a road caravan would suit that campsite, thick sand could cause a problem.
Ja; Die pad is in n redelike toestand. Slasp normaalweg by Dive Inn in Pongola sodat ons vroegoggend in Kosibaai is.
I have just driven from Pongola to Ndumo via Jozini. I also drove onto Kosi Bay and Tembe. I towed a Gypsey Caravette 6B. Just be careful for all the speed bumps along the way as they start just after one goes over the mountain after you go around the bottom of the Jozini Dam from the N2. They are very sharp and one has to come to a standstill before going over them. Be careful that the vehicles behind you don't drive straight into you. Jozini town is very busy and can be congested. For interests sake, on my way back, I was going to uMkhuze game reserve and to avoid all the speed bumps, I decided to take the R22 through Sodwana/Mabazwana and to Hlulhluwe. Much better road, still speed bumps but not as sharp and this was overall a better route, even though it was longer and I had to drive a loop. I would definitely take this road if I had to tow a standard caravan up to Kosi, even though it is longer. Also less bumpy and wider verges.
