Hi All,

We went to Klein Kariba over this last weekend and here is some feedback for those who have not been:

On arrival we noted a very well organised reception! (This trend continued throughout our stay) The place is extremely well managed with plenty of security visible at all times. Also worth noting that the place is very clean!! No litter or anything like that.

Driving through to the camp sites I didnt really like how ontop of each other the sites are - it really looked as though they have sandwhiched everyone together - however its worth mentioning that once we were setup it seemed fairly private.

The stands are paved - thank goodness as we had rain on both evenings (will post in a new thread regarding my leaking van... :()

Facilities are good - there are alot of ablutions, and clean too - given the rain I expected a fairly muddy afair but they were well maintained at all times.

Lots of kids activities - super tube etc. It was hot during the day which made the hot pools a bit much (they only have one cold pool which was a bit green from all the activity and rain I guess).

The resort was very busy but with many pools and grass/picnic areas it didnt feel cramped at all.

The shop is well stocked and they even have a bottle store onsite!! :)

Overall it is very good value for money as we paid R350 per night per stand.

We will definitely consider going back.

I would igve it a solid 8/10.

Regards,

Des

Nice feedback Des, I also like Klein Kariba and have been a few times and never had issues but like you the stands feel cramped to me too even when set up. One thing we always do there is let the kids go horse riding, last time is was R20 for a 45 min ride which is dirt cheap for rising and they have a blind pony for young children that is as gentle as a lamb. We normally go in winter so the cold pool is out but i never realised there is only one cold pool, isnt there one by the flats? A round one? Maybe its hot, i always thought it was cold though. That big pool would be fine when the resort is not to full but yeah at full capacity it must be madness. Are you ATKV members to pay so little or is that their normal price? Not sure why but I thought it was more. Glad you had fun.

Hi Sharon,

The only cold pool we found was the round one - unless we missed another?

The large oval pool by the tuck shop was heated as was the indoor pool. The super tube was cold though so that was a fun way to cool off. We are not members - not sure if the rate was good but I think it was the normal rate?

Wow I swear they cost more a few months backUndecided  Hmmmmm maybe I am thinking of somewhere else but that is really cheap.

Gonna look at that other pool next time, I never bothered before but now I am curious.
