Are there any campsites outside the Kgalagdi park that dont cost as much as the ones inside.

George, try Kgalagadi Lifestyle Lodge.   We have camped there. Rates for a campsite is R600 for 2 at present.  They may offer pensioners discount.  The campsites have a private bathroom facility and a braai.  Restaurant, shop and swimming pool on site.  Located just 5,5km away from SanParks Twee Rivieren entrance.  They  are currently booked up till mid July.

Kgalagadi is a frustrating place.  I was there in April.   Believe it or not, there is not site available at Mata Mata or Nossob up to end May 2026.  I just find this hard to believe when there are ample sites available at 2Rivieren.

George, we have never stopped/stayed over between Upington and KTP.

With the Exclusive you can only camp at Twee Rivieren (TR).

There is currently camping space in November and December at TR, Mata Mata and a few at Nossob. (Nossob being a base camp for Botswana and camps north of Nossob.)

Pensioner discounts, 40%, are available during October and November for Sunday to Thursday nights at TR, so R290pn.
