I have been watching the string on the KZN Rally in February 2013 to see what KZN response is & from other provinces as well.
I propose the first weekend of Feb: Friday 1st & Sat 2nd.
I propose Drakensville as it is a very nice venue.
Please get your names onto this list ASAP so that I can phone Drakensville & book accordingly.
We will be missing this one as we will be at Hartenbos but in spirit we will be there, hope we and Clive & Joyce can have our own braai in memory.
Just a note I found on their web.
Nico & Claudet Prinsloo
Wow Willem thats one long detour for the guys comming from Gauteng
Normal route 57Km from Harrismith
Detour route 131Km
Hopefully by then the route has been repaired. Last time I used it down to Dbn due to an accident just outside Harrismith the R74 was in dreadfull condition
Baie ver vir die Palagaters.
We would love to join you. Shall probably stay a few days longer to make the trip worth while.
The road is open at own risk. The stop/go's are unmanned & the road is very narrow at places. Large parts are potholed gravel strips. I agree with the detour as I would not drive there with a car & no-go for a caravan. I will attach a photo soon.
Just some photos of Drakensville.
Inside the ablutions.
Willie at Drakensville a year ago.
Those are sommer to make you all "Lus". (Something to look forward to.)
I'll enquire about their midweek specials so that a few of us can either arrive earlier or stay longer.
This is a tricky one. We are booked at Scottburgh from 12 Jan. to 8 Febr., but will not be able to take so many days leave. Which means that we wil either have to leave Scottburgh earlier or go there later. If we leave earlier, we might just be able to attend this rally on our way back. Give us a few days to work this one out and I will post the result! In the mean time: hold thumbs with me!
Gona do my best to attend this one. Problem its very close to the Dec holidays.
Willem (Wilsur) - I know you might not be able to join us - off to Hartenbos - but you WILL still be involved. I present you with the honour of setting up the list as always, as well as the Rally Disks! You are such a good organiser of lists and disks, we cannot let you off the hook here!
Do we have any more names yet for Drakensville in February 2013?
The Forums Members who have committed so far:

Nico & Claudette Prinsloo G
Colin Alexander F/S

Where is KZN Forums Members? We have specifically decided on ATKV Drakensville so as to accommodate the KZN members - very disapointing!
Come on you guys! Get your names on the list!
Oops Willie, we are in Johanessburg not Free state ...lol
Agreed......C'mon KZN.....we'd like to meet some of you folks there too.
Hi, We will try our best to attend but will have to let you know at later stage. It depends on Neill's health. He has just had an ECG and a whole lot of tests done yesterday. Next month he is going to have EEG. A couple of years ago, he had a heart attack and then had to have a triple by pass, Now for some reason out of the blue he has had two bad seizures. I am a bit worried to travel to far if his health is not alright, but If all goes well and his health is good and Marshall is fine we are going to try to make this rally (outspan).
Hi, I have one question. Just how many forum members are there from KZN.???????????????? Please say hello so we know who you are.
Sorry to hear about Neil's health and we sincerely hope that it improves dramatically. It would be awesome to meet you all.
Wishing you all the very best.
Sorry to hear that Neill is not well. Hope that things go well for him and he has a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and good wishes.
MArg, all the best for you, and we will keep Neill in our prayers.
Our family pray for Neil's speedy recovery and that the Lord protects you all during this period.
Sorry to hear that Neill is not well. Hope that things go well for him and he has a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
Nico & Claudet Prinsloo
Thanks everyone for your kind words and prayers. Neill's last set of blood tests are back to normal. Now he has to go for the EEG next month to see if they can find a reason for the seizure's. He appears to back to normal. All I pray is that he does not have another seizure especially while driving. He is an auto electrician and his job requires him to be on the road.
I will make the list tonight, but by the sounds of it it will only be Gautengers kamping again ??
MArg, all the best for Neill we will keep your in our prayers.
The list for Drakensville Saamtrek / Rally. Are you going to fill the 20 places on the list ???
Hi, My question is, just how many KZN people are there on the forum. I can count may be four only.
Yes Marg, I count only four active KZN Forum Members not including myself.
Apart from yourself, the other Three have gone VERY quite!
I am going to try to contact some very old Forum Members in KZN and try to attract their interest. Their details wlii be in our database.
Hi Willie, You can add Joyce to your list of Kzn forum members. That makes 6.
1 Willie & Dot
2 John Lorio
3 Marg & Neill
4 Graham Berriman
5 Mark Lester
6 Clive Joyce
I have been quiete active on the forum how come you did not notice me from KZN
On another string .>KZN people where and when are you camping < I replied that I will be in Capetown on that day of the Drakensville Rally..
For those that are going I envy you.
Any changes to the list for this Rally / Saamtrek ???
This one interferes with my cricket season. My wife was retrenched last month but to an extent fortunately is now employed at the same place, but different employer and leave could be a problem. It is a long way for me, so we will have to take leave to make it worthwile.
However, I am watching this thread closely. If I see enough names I have not met yet, I will also make an extra special effort to attend. I also don't want to miss 3 rallies in a row! So, COME ON KZN!
DR DRAKE GP that's not a Doctor nor a GP.
Of wil julle net 5 karavane daar hê ???
What is happening with this Rally.
Hope to see the list growing in Jan. 2013
Sorry I am also out due to my 3 month trip to Angola for work.
Nico & claudet Prinsloo
Who's left? (Does not look like there are many left!)
If there are none from KZN, should we not look somewhere else and attract more?
Three vans! Colin - Jhb. Leon - Pretoria and myself - KZN.
Have you guys already booked? If not, it is not worth a rally for three families, two from Gauteng.
NOT ONE KWAZULU-NATAL!!!! This rally was intended that KZN forums members were to meet Gauteng (Transvaal) Forums Members!
Very disappointing! I need clarity before this week is out please.
Willie.Com - you seem to have lost your touch. Better come back to Trekkers.
Regards to you and Dot.
OK - so it looks as if this one is off!
