Hi Georgina,

If the Slipstream mentioned above is not available, there was one standing in the caravan storage area at Mountain Splendor in the Berg. I don't know if its for sale, deserted or just in storage or whatever, but it might be worth a phone call to find out.

Let us know what happens.

I was curious to see what a Jurgens Slipstream looks like, so I asked Uncle Google.

There are at least four adverts. R 60 000 for a very nice one.

Here is a photo of one from google.  Spoke to Nel and the one he had is already sold so no luck .

I also got hold of Mountain Splendour and the one there is not for sale.  Owners pitch every now and then for a break but management will try and get hold of them to ask if they perhaps want to sell.

Thank you all for the help.

Hi Gina,

Just a thought,  there is an alternative to the Slipstreem which could also be of interest to you and is certainly worth a good look, the "Skipper".  This van is easier to erect than the Slipstreem as I remember things. There are two basic models, Both are super, light to tow, simple to erect and light to move around at home and on site.

Good luck

Om te dink in die 80s het hulle net oor die R3000 helps.

Wys jou karavaan se waarde val nie.

The Slipstream in your picture was a super unit, much nicer than the lower one which was more of a trailer with a tent on top, Gina.  Bewtter looking too.  It is a pity they are not made anymore.  They were very spacious but low enough to store in a garage.  Much heavier than the Skipper Oyster, which we also have, but certainly something I would have considered if they were available when we bought the Oyster.  But we like our Oyster- it ticks all the boxes for us.

I can kick myself because I had one but sold it a year ago.  Thought caravan would be better option.  But yes which was not the case.

I do not like the new style of trailer campers because hate the fact that sleeping is always somewhere up in the air

The Skipper Oyster sleeping is not up in the air and you can have 2 single beds or a double. We have the Skipper T and its the best thing we have done. Also owned a Slipstream about 34 years ago
