Home is where we park the caravan.
Now at Leentjiesklip, Langebaan.
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
Hi George & fam Enjoy your stay at Leentjies klip Lovely view of the ocean
Youre just up the road from where I stay in Melkbosstrand
Wish I still had my Autovilla would have popped in to say hello but as they say all good thimgs come to an end Miss my travels and camping
Enjoy your stay hope you have good weather
Hi George enjoy the stay - we always have enjoyed our stay there - glad you have your net on ðŸâÂ
Enjoy the stay there.
That was where we had our first ever caravanning trial camp.
My wife had a paragliding experience hanging onto the front of the tent. Took us 3 to 4 hours to set up ..... and we were still talking after ....
Living the dream

Paragliding experience ha ha ha thats a good one Richard
We had that experience at Kardosie a short while back, and we were both flying with the front roof.

Heard many stories about the Lientjies-WIND!
You'll never never know if you never never go
Wind is a fact anyware on the coast but some places like Linkiesklip, Stuisbaai and Gansbaai seem to have even more of it. In the windy season, if any such actually exist, Yserfontein, south if Lientjiesklip, is a better option.
Het is beter rijk te leven dan rijk te sterven
Researching the weather pattern and history of the the winds here over the past 10 or so years indicate that the wind is at its lowest over the winter months here, i guess we going to find out.......

We stood at strandkloof , Gansbaai july to sept last year, the wind blows hurricanes there for weeks on end.
Regret, Yserfontein dont do monthly stays.

Hou vas "my" dop en check die move🤣🤣🤣
If its worth doing, its worth doing well.

Not bad at all really, mostly northerly winds which we block a lot of it out due to our set up. A lot of light rain on and off, and bordering on cold. I think the chill factor makes it feel colder then it actually is.

George, I see there has been some heavy weather down there over the past few days, did you guys get through it ok? Hope you did not suffer any damages.

Hi brian, seems to be that all the gale force winds and floods happened from cape town southwards and eastwards. Whilst we have had a lot of wind here , gusting in the 70's every now and then and intermitent light rain on and of but there hasn't been anything we can't deal with. All is good.
Saw in the local paper that the road that connects Citrusdal to the N7 washed away, [ saw the pics ]
And Mitchells pass that connects Ceres with Tulbagh had a large mud slide , so that road is closed,
I guess we left those areas at the right time,

Glad to hear all is good there :) I hear there were also heavy winds up at Drakensville with the last front that passed through. Down here in Natal weather is great and the resort is in good shape.
Stay safe.
I guess we always compare winter to how it was at piet retief , [ where we came from ] where walking on ice in the mornings and minus temperatures were the norm.
And have never experienced conditions like that between Richards bay where we started to langebaan where we are now.
The most uncomfitable winter had to be at plett, forever resort. largely because its in a valley meaning the sun came up late and dissapeared early, coupled with a canopy of trees one hardly saw the sun, let alone felt it.
