I have a PVC type ripstop tent, have made fire to close to it, now a few spot holes that need repair , have been thinking of old style bicycle patch and solution, any body ells have a suggestion ?
Camping shops sell patch kits with a glue and Pvc material. Not ideal and if its a camp master tent mabe its time to get yourself a canvas tent.
I would go to a boating shop and get some SAIL TAPE. It will work. You might be lucky enough to get something other than white.
I used duct tape on my old silver caravan cover. The glue dried out within 2 weeks. The duct tape blew around my garden and left glue on the cover.
Whereas the worn out bum of my sailing baggies that I fixed with sail tape lasted about 2 years. There is no comparison.
Thanks guys, "I should be sailing, across the sea, but there is lockdown, not far away", so just going to get some tape
Well I do not know how large the holes are. If very small just use Genkem Contact adhesive in a tube. Put on a bit and let it dry completely repeat a few times to cover the hole as needed.
Also do it on the inside of the tent. With larger holes use a small piece of church cotton shirt of closely the same color as the tent. Stick it on with the contact adhesive and there after soak the small piece of cotton with the contact adhesive. Do the same on the inside of the tent.
