AFAIK there is no difference between Deep Cycle chargers and High Cycle chargers. The difference is in the construction of the two types of battery's...plate thickness. Both require 2.36V per cell (14.1V) for 100% charge and 2.3V per cell (13.8V) for float. Deep Cycle battery's take charge slower than high cycle and can withstand deep discharges more readily. Both get degraded (less cycles) by deep dis-charges. Battery manufacturers usually give charging specifications/requirements which must be adhered to for maximum battery life.

I have a Deep Cycle 105Ah on my Hercules 10. No problem.

Neil you already got your answer. I can just agree with the other chaps. The Hercules will just not charge it full. 

Net so Danie. Daar is n' "boost" (Vol Charge) strap binne in die Hercules wat by default oop is. If you want detail I can give it.

What is the difference between the Hercules 10 v Hercules 20 system in a van?

Reason for my question: I charge 2x105Ah batteries via a seperate charger from 220v.

I have additional electrical points (installed by the dealership) served from only 2 circuit breakers on the Hercules 10 which came with the Penta.

I experience occasional overload of the Herculus since it builds up excessive  heat when using certain electrical items.

I planned to install an additional circuitbreaker to split the system more evenly. No space in the Hercules 10.

On investigation I was informed by a van dealer two weeks ago that the difference between the H10 and H20 is the charging of the battery and no additional space for a third circuitbreaker is available on the H20.

Die hitte is suiwer afkomsig van die laaier/power supply gedeelte v d Hercules. Ekstra MCB sal geen verskil maak en al voordeel is dat as die huidige 220V MCB wel trip dan kan mens die vrag versprei oor 2 stroombrekers.

Hercules20 het net nuwer tipe sekerings en 'n nuwer model.

Geen hitte behoort op te bou weens die hoeveelheid 220V items wat van krag voorsien word nie.

Ek skat die Her20 het dalk net 'n groter power supply van 30A in.
