On my 2009 Jurgens Fleetline I have a number of dead flies between the two panes of double glazing on one of the windows. The two panes appear to be stuck together. Any one else experienced this, if so how did you remove them?

I would not know, because we do not allow flies in our caravanlaughing

Sometimes you will find about 4 holes with about 4mm diameter on the inside panels, mostly in the four corners, plugged with a small black rubber plug, and it can fall out, giving the flies a gap to get in.

You can try and find the holes, and if all are open, plug all and leave one and try to suck it out with vacuum cleaner. We had a Jurgens Esprit (1992/3 model) and that was how i solved the problem.

Same problem with my '95 Fleetline. Despite some opinions here flies are everywhere! Just counted those between the windows in my van, in 24 years about 6 or so per window, guys that qualifies as us being "clean"? :) The upside of this is that these vans are high tech having been fitted with "double glazed" windows that are excellent sound and temperature insulators!

Welcome here on the forum.

As mentioned the inside panel has small holes and they can only got inside through there.

Loosen the side steadies of the window and remove one of the stoppers which is at the end of the aluminium rail the window hinge on.  Then slide the window out.

Hold the window horizontal and bump the sides until the flies are close to one of the holes. Place the vacuum hose at the hole and suck them out.  They are now dried out so you probably will have to use a bent paper clip to brake up the larger ones.  Do not close the other small holes as the air must go in there for you to suck them out.

The flies get in there when they are trapped between the window and curtain. They walk around on the inside of the window and eventually find one of that small holes using as an escape but just get trapped even more.

Thanks for all the advice. I will attempt the removal tomorrow after I finish with my 12v wiring project (disconnect battery from power supply (connected by Leisureworld incorrectly when they installed movers), 12v fuse and connection box next to battery, LED reading lamps by double bed, 12v light above table with switch next to the door, plus connections for external lights. I also had to get a new compressor and a regas for my Bauer fridge/freezer during this project!

Welcome Sean.

Leon, jy is classic. "find one of that small holes using as an escape but just get trapped even more."

Just like that!

I also have them and they do bother me but not that much that I will dismantel the window to get them out just to be replaced by new ones. You have to leave the holes open else the window will crack with changes in air pressure. I have taped my shower holes up with insulation tape but that is not air tight. Maybe do that on all the windows or a plug of gause?

Maybe only camp where there are BIG flies. 2.5mm or bigger. What about some fishes in there like a fish tank?laughingThey will eat the flies.

Groete,
Paul

Ha Ha Ha Ha........................ it sounds strange but I meant that the flies are trapped between the window and curtain. They normally walk on the window pane and by luck get to the small holes.  They then crawl through there thinking is an escape.  That is if a fly can think .............................laughinglaughing
