According to the GRNP general manager Vuyiswa Thabethe, the fire was noticed in the temporary shop structure in the park just after 17:00 on Tuesday 22 September.

Third fire in SANPARKS in 3 weeks. Something is wrong.

Groete,
Paul

There was a fire here before..  That is why the current Parks Shop is in a temporary facility.

Almost 4 years later and there is still no permanent restaurant , where does all the gate money go to ? We were there in Feb this year and even the personel working there were wondering where all the gate money goes to . What I find strange is if you want to do anything in a protected area even put in a park bench you need an impact assesment study with loads of red tape but they are allowed to put up a huge tent on the rocks no problem.

At this rate we will to bring every possible thing with us when we visit SAN-parks. Either the incompetent staff is more incompetent or the competent staff has given up trying to train the stupid and brainless.

You'll never never know if you never never go
