We plan on going camping during the July school holidays to the Drakensberg. Has anyone any opinions and recommendations between the following resorts: Dragon Peaks Mountain Splendour Drakensburg Gardens We have two young children and would appreciate your comments.

For the kids Dragon Peaks would be top of the list, as there is so much for them to do. Mountain Splendour is grat for peace & quiet but the kids will soon get board of the animals the other side off the fence. However they run a splendid holiday program for kids during December holidays so ask if they do the same for July Hols.

You stand a good chance of seeing some snow in July, but I've been told that Dragons Peak and Mountain Splendour are a bit warmer in Winter than the more Northern resorts. I would go for MS and book one of the exclusive sites (private bathroom and scullery). The private bathroom might be a bit more cosy during winter months. You have a choice between a unit with a bath or a shower.

Which roads do you use going there? I believe Oliviershoek is a mess?
