Caravan Clubs.
Which Forum members belong to a Caravan Club and whats the name of your club.
I belong to two clubs.
The Freewheelers and Sunshine Coast
Hi, we belong to The Trekkers Club - Laarger 1 which is in KZN.
Regards MArg
Yes ...... Yes ...... Caravanparks.com forum! Denying that this is a club doesn't change anything in my mind ---- there are a great bunch of people out there, probably even better than club mates.
After my topic on laagers, (don't laugh) I have joined CCSA and become a member of the Magalies region (greatfully introduced to them by a forum member).
If you think of it, you may find this interesting ----- there are other regions quite close, but that's another long story! I attended a rally (or should I rather say "was present") by the closest region. That was the worst "closed Laager" I have yet seen. I have attended some of their rallies - and so far have only found "Lagers"
Regards,
DR DRAKE GP that's not a Doctor nor a GP.
Oh David, I am so proud of you. You have come out. As I have always said, don't judge all clubs the same. There are clubs out there that are not regimented closed unfriendly laargers.
Come on everyone Clive Joyce asked about who belongs to a club and the name of your club. It can not only be 3 of us.
I have heard of the Sunshine Coast club mentioned before but don't know what club it is. Is it the C.C.S.A. Sunshine Coast region?
Regards Marg
Hi there,
yes the Sunshine Coast is CCSA
I am in the Alfred County also of the CCSA
cheers

Hi, Another question. How do the clubs feel about you belonging to more than one club. The reason I ask is because there are places we would like to go to but our club does not go there, and we see other clubs do. Do other clubs allow visitors?
Regards MArg
Hi Marg,
Any of the CCSA clubs would welcome you as a visitor, I am sure, definitaly the Alfred County, we are down here situated in Margate and camp anywhere from IFafa to Port Edward, once a month.
the Sunshine is closer to you and I am sure you would be welcome there as well
Regards
Graham
Member of CCSA Natal Highway. I dont join other clubs when our club goes to a venue that doesnt suit the wife and I. We just take a miss or go away by ourselves. Which i think is needed every so often
I belong to SAWA Roodekruin in the Roodepoort/Krugersdorp area
We are not members of any club.
No particular reason, cept we just havnt got so far to enquire.
S A W A KREMETART
Not a member of any caravan club and doubt that we ever will be.
2012-11-21
We never thought we would want to belong to a Club at all, but after a while we got bored going away on our own and was introduced to Trekkers. That was 24 years ago, and if we had not joined them I doubt bthat we would have ever used our caravan as much as we have. We have an venu list drawn up, and plan our social engagemnts around that list, going away for a weekend once a month, every month. The company is good, and there are no "politics".
Can really recomend it

That's what I like about our rallies, it’s informal yet we are a lekker crowd that does what they want and we braai together once or so over the weekend.
Please join us on one of our rallies.
Hi all.
Thanks for the feedback. 657 forum members viewed this topic and only 7 are members of a Caravan Club.It seems Caravan Clubs are not popular amongs the forum members.
Marg most if not all caravan clubs welcome visitors and you will be more than welcome as a visitor to our clubs.
Belonging to two clubs in my case is no problem at all as they are two totally different clubs.
To Dr Drake glad to hear you joined up with the magalies region how are you enjoying it so far
We are leaving today for Tugela Mouth Resort for our christmas getaway with our club the Freewheelers.
Hi Hughie
Are you from KZN dont see what province you from on your avatar.
Hi Clive,
Yes, I am from Kwa Zulu Natal, Queensburgh to be exact.
Apologies about the lack of information on my Province. Will fix it.
A brief word on the subject of beloning to 2 Clubs. It can work if their dates dont clash, but can be expensive with the price of fuel to go away twice in a month, specially anywhere distant.
Willem, would love to join you Guys on an outing. Will let you know when I am up your way. Thanks for the invite.
Must be honest that we're probably NOT club people!! But I grew up with my folks being committee members of CCSA, and rallies were in my blood! But then I got married, and had my own kids, and we found that we had too much going on over the week-ends to be able to go away........
A few years ago, we tried to go back to rallying, but the region was not terribly friendly, and the average age was much older than us - with no young kids at all!
We do, however, have a group of friends who are 'regulars' at Salt Rock in the July school holidays like us.....
Hugs
Bev
Just one last comment on Caravan Clubs.
If you are new to caravanning, or a little inexperienced, going away as the guest of a Club will defnitely save you a lot of time and high blood pressure when setting up for the first time etc. Most club Members are only too happy to share their knowlege and experiences, both good and bad when setting up, preparing for bad weather, and generally making sure you will enjoy your weekend away.
Hughie.
Caravan clubs have their ups and downs, if there is to much politics then the pleasure of camping goes by the way side. My husband and I joined the Freewheelers (Gaunteng) about 3 years ago, as they are a club, where you get together once a month, and just have fun...if you want privacy you get it, if you want to socialise and catch up, that is there to...
We have become quite a close group of campers, we camp around the the verineeging area...You get the calander for the year giving you the resorts and cost for camping, so you can plan around it, if you cant make it, there are not fines or penalties or forfeits for not camping, but you will be missed. A monthly news letter gets sent out with the events that took place on the last camp...everything done is so that we all have fun, relax.
We camp with the true camping spirit, regardless, whether you are in a tent, caravan etc..you are welcome and at R50 a year, what more can you ask for...
I would not join a caravan club that has endless rules, if I want that I would stay in my office...
