We have just returned from a long weekend at Bushwillow Park, 20 km outside Howick in the stunning Karkloof.
The owner Irvin is always visible and ever so helpful.
The grounds are kept neat and short mowed lawns throughout.
Ablution facilities, scullery and washing areas neat and clean.

A gem of a place to get away from it all , but Howick and the Midlands Meander nearby.Sat Farmers market a must!
The 2 km of gravel road was really well kept and easy to travel with the low Exclusive.....

We will return often.
Value for money .

I agree, love the place. It is "was" our little secret. Then there is the meander to explore. On a Saturday there is the farmers market, then on Sunday all is cleared away for the N.C.F. church, a really fantastic full of life service.

Take the Howick Midmar turnoff not the Howick underburg turnoff. The other turnoff you have to travel though Howick.

How far from the N3 is the resort.

Got the co-ordinates from them. The park is 26.2 Km from the N3 to the park trun off on the gravel road.

Route: P142 and N3 Ramp to Bush Willow Caravan Park turn off, Total Distance: 26.2 km.

Waypoint: Bush Willow Caravan Park, Position: S29 19 01.2 E30 17 42.2,

Link: http://www.bushwillowcaravanpark.co.za

The GPS co-ordinates above are for the actual park and not the turn off.

The Howick falls is very commercial. Lots of small trading tables, with the normal type of African hand crafts.
Try to visit the Karlkloof falls. There is a terrible dirt road full of pot holes to get there, but is really worth it. Don't give up it is really worth the trip. We took a braai and had a picnic there. On the side of the falls there is a dirt road going up to the top of the falls. If the road is open it is a must to go to the top. On the other side of the falls is a spa and game reserve. We did not go but our friends that were camping with us went. There is also the canopy tours. It is a high wire that you travel from one kloof to the other. A little further up the dirt Kaalkloof dirt road there is a water fall. Unfortunately when we were there is was dry. There is also a walk through the forest at the back of the caravan park. So much more to see. We went and watch rugby and the corner pub in Howick and had their burger and beer special. Very good. If you go to Bushwillow you must get a brochure and enjoy all the things in the area.
