I used to be a Tour Guide for the best part of 13 years and Aventura Blydepoort is one of my favourites. You cannot go wrong with any of the Aventura resorts. Blydepoort is a little pricy but worth every cent!!
You didn't mension whether you are caravaning/camping or wanting to stay in the chalets? Either way you win!! Blydepoort is very centrally situated. You are within reach of the following: Kruger park; The canyon itself; God's window; A cheetah farm near Swadini (a must); Pilgrims Rest; Sodwala caves; Nelspruit; Barberton (very interesting). At the resort itself are also a few short day hikes which is also a must. You need at least 10 days to see and do everything.
A WORD OF CAUTION!!! Be very carefull of the baboons and vervet monkeys! Given an oppertunity they will come in and rade all your food in the fridge. DURING THE DAY KEEP ALL DOORS & WINDOWS SHUT!!!
Depending on which time of the year you are planning to visit Blydepoort, you must remember that it is situated in a malaria area and precautions must be taken, especially during the summer months. Regards Dave Coetzer
