'n Mover is vir my 'n tipe geriefs versekering teen moontlike rug of verwante beserings!!

Sal daar parte beskikbaar wees?
HI Piet,
Het 'n Rock Jocky in goeie kondisie, 0.75kw 230v vir R10 000.00 as jy belang stel.
Ons is in Krugersdorp.
Groete
Aletta
Aletta as jy na my verwys........ek het intussen n mover opgesit. Dankie vir jou terugvoer. Soos jy sal merk was dit n 2017 navraag.

As die kooper dit wil hê betaal hy daai prys by.
EK HET OOK N EWIKS GEKOOP EN SELF INGESIT WERK SOOS N BOM.GEBRUIK DIT MET N LOS BATTERY.

The old, old question of mover or no mover.
I look at it as an absolute essential extra - like medical Aid...we dont like the costs but we have to have it....
I originally had a Scout (this thing with the door opening upwards at the rear ) and the GVM was 750 kg.
With my back op done in 1993 and my age I was not able to move this thing on a level road --not to talk even of slight uphill or downhill.
Even with a wife of similar age and both healthy I cannot see ourselves moving the van on a slightly uneven surface.
For me it was as factual as day and night that I could not handle the van by myself and I am not even talking of delicately manouvering it to the tow ball.
Recently I purchased an off-road Conqueror Supra 1 with a GVM of 1500kg.
I just about can move this trailer on the garage floor but down the slight ramp and to the towing vehicle (and in reverse at home after the trip) and then--OOOH HELL----on a rough patch of camping ground !!! NO CHANCE.
So, if age or back pain or anything else prevents you from pushing your van where you want or need it without suffering or maybe causing a self inflicted accident----scounge and scrounge and scrounge to get a DECENT MOVER.
Apart from the imported stuff which are around R 20.000,-/22.000,- PLUS, the EWIKS wins hands down because it is much, much cheaper and can be installed by your honourable self ...and if you have only 2 left thumbs, you most likely have a relative or good friend to do it with you. It is quite easy and Ewiks gives very good instructions and their price includes basically all parts, excepting maybe a special bracket or two which however will not cost you an arm or leg ....maybe just a blocked nose for an hour or so.
The overriding point I am making is IF YOU ARE OF AN AGE OR CONDITION which prohibits you from or won't let you safely manhandle your van (not only at home but also at the place of your pleasure) DON'T SKIMP and try for the second best and remember: You might not be in a position to manhandle your van satisfactory now but you are still very able to go camping ......So. do what you like to do best and most
I found that AL-Ko also have a mover available. It is on their catalogue. It looks quite streamlined but I cannot find any reference to this in South Africa. The Ewiks according to an enquiry I sent to them, is not compatible with the Skipper, so I have been wondering whether the Al-Ko might work. Does anyone know this system and whether it is available in South Africa?
I wonder sometimes why caravan manufacturing / building companies do not include a mover as original equioment in particular for all vans over tare of1.200 kg or similar.
It should be very easy to design a mover as part of the van axle/suspensin and offer it as "OPTIONAL EXTRA", also considering that today all vans make use of a battery one way or the other. In the same way it bothers me that in all the last 25 years the larger SA caravan builders (e.g. Jurgens, etc) were unable to offer an integrated airconditioner , also as optional extra. Today normal domestic units are crammed into nose cones and elsewhere and for a van one does not need a 12.000 BTU unit, a 5.000 / 6000 BTU would be sufficient.

Agree, but I dont think they will give you the top of the range options...... I mean, if I look at some equipment as standard on most caravans it is clearly a case of cheapest supplier....
I have an Ewiks, it does what it needs to, and it does have issues just like the rest of the other makes, so one just have to decide and choose your battle.....
I for one dont want the most technologically advanced mover with the risk of blowing a control card and then having to search for a replacement and especially if the manufacturer closed down or the importer stopped using them.
Local was my answer and simplicity even better...
I think I must fit a 270 awning first and then a mover.

Alko has the Mammut Mover. I like the stream line of it. Fits to the chassis mostly used here in SA. It also comes from over seas. Can also move a heavy caravan.
They were the first to mount it onto a small demo trailer with every Beeld Holiday Show. Ewiks now has the same demo method and Reich Mover from Witbank also incorporates a leveling system and electric corner steadies onto their demo trailer.
Well its for you to decide. If you have some sort of rally you are covered for the time being in that area.
No mover is no mover and you only discover the real value of a mover after you have installed one.
Some one else mentioned on another thread that their Mover and rear view camera are their no 1 Items on the Caravans.
