You are losing me Kashvir. What are you planning to do with the "spigots"?
Are you referring to the part that fits into the top of the pole that will go through the eyelet. You can buy them loose, but if you buy ready made poles they will be fitted.
Learned something. That part is a spigot.
You can get them at Outdoor WH for R49 a pair, for a 19mm pole.
Ek stem saam Fred.

If I use the poles I have, I will need to buy the spigots. If I buy the adjustable poles they will have spigots. I was referring to the that exactly, the spigots that go through the eyelets. Sorry for any confusion.

Yes. The poles I have do not have spigots. So what I meant earlier on was I can buy new poles with spigots, maybe I didn't word it correctly. I meant to say that the adjustable poles thats being sold already have spigots. I could also choose buy the spigots individually for the poles I have.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to assist me with information and advice. Thus far I have printed all the lists from the news tab and have read through it. Theres a ton of valuable data on there, things that I hadn't even thought of. I have read through the comments and have made purchases accordingly, I bought cutlery and crockery, a water tank with tap, I bought spigots for the poles I have, I bought better ground stakes, and some other small stuff like pot scorers etc. Had a metal step to get into the caravan. It broke once so I had it welded, now it started to bend so I also purchased a plastic double step. I was surprised how much stronger it is being plastic and not metal. So I'm following the lists as well as the advice given. I did not buy any gadgets, just items that are necessary all the essential stuff which I didn't have. I'm also planning my first trip. Was thinking of bluff eco park, being my first trip it will be near to home as per advice given.
I don't see you mention a ground sheet. Most camps don't have any ground cover. I use 4" nails and washers to secure it to the ground.
Our van is a shoeless van. So we have 2 synthetic mats, cheapest ones that Makro had, used as staging spot before entering van. They also come in very useful to run the jockey wheels on in thick sand.

And tv dinner tables....

The nails come in useful when the braai grid's 'pin' is missing. I actually use 2, so that I can take out top one and grid drops onto the second one and when 1st one has cooled and you can handle it, it can be placed in a lower hole...
(Interesting how many people I see don't lift the grid before lighting the fire... I lift mine and 'heat treat'.
When we stand long. 2 weeks or more and there is just bare ground we put down a 2x2 meter piece of plastic at the door. On top of that goes a 9x3 meter 80% shade cloth and then top of that the original ground sheet. On top of that we have two shower matts at the door. Those thin, hard, interlocking ones.
Maybe a bit overkill but it works for us. The solid plastic 2x2 square is the only place where you can sit outside if it has been raining for days and the soil has become muddy. You must also not go bigger with the solid plastic because then it becomes a swimming pool. If there is solid grass we don't put any ground sheets down. Just the shower matts.
We use a full solid plastic on ground (not on grass). Ie full length of ground sheet and it even folds back under on the width. I fold it up against the wheel as a wall, but yes water does run on top of it at times, but is dries reasonably quick.

Kashmir did you sort out your drop plate for the tow hitch, you don't want to have a swaying caravan it's dangerous
There are nice parks in Amanzimtoti- Villa Spa and Karridene are two good ones and at least you will feel you are getting out of Durban without going too far.

I didn't purchase that as yet. Thanks for the tip of using the nails to pin it down instead of buying the pegs for it. Just made a note of that. Was still comparing online prices incl. delivery vs just going out and purchasing it directly.

What's a shoeless van?

Might seem excessive but I'm sure it beats having to deal with the mud during bad weather as you said. 😄

I have a large roll of green building plastic. I will make a note and incorporate with a ground sheet.

Ek het my Klein braai staan reeds gepak. Kykna houtstoel wat vou vir maklike berging. Kyk na hierdie foto laat my besef dat dit ongemaklik gaan wees on te gebruik. Al my kampstoele is stukkend. Enige voorstelle?

Look at the the towbar installed. Theres a square tubing which it is attached to. That square tubing has bolts which when loosened seems to be able to pivot upwards or downwards. I need to test out my theory. I hope that it works out and that solves my issue. Do you have any knowledge on such?
No shoes allowed in van. Ie barefoot, socks or soleless slippers only.
A bit like a Japanese home.
Can't work out from the picture what you got. A drop plate is a rectangular plate with a pair of holes in the top half and another pair in the bottom half that are as wide apart as the tow balls bolt holes. You just loosen off the existing tow ball and bolt the plates top bolt holes onto where the place where the tow ball was previously bolted. Then the tow ball is bolted onto the lower pair of bolt holes. So the tow ball moves down by the distance the rectangular plates holes are apart.

Look at the picture with it zoomed in. It does have that feature. The towbar is on the lower set.

Us too. It has many advantages. Firstly it minimises cleaning/sweeping the caravan floor and mats and then also it keeps the thorns outside. When there are paper thorns in the camp site the ground sheets are included in the shoes off space.
If you forget you get a hard, stern LOOK.
What I have done to determine if the tow ball is the correct height (without hitching) is to level the caravan and then measure the height of the inside of the tow hitch cup. Then get one or two people to sit on the tale gat to simulate the caravan nose weight. Measure the height of the top of the ball. Should be equal too or slightly less than the tow hitch measurement.
I tested some 4 stud used rims with different PCDs as I need a spare tire. Tried Toyota, Ford Bantam, VW. The PCD on the caravan doesn't match any of those. Does someone know what's the correct match?
Old 1995--- VW Citi Golf or Fox.

Hoeveel kabel moet ek gebruik?

n' 25 tot 30 meter 2.5 mm extension is gewoonlik genoeg. Ek vat twee saam.

Daar is twee tipes ronde proppe.
The male with a female household 3 pin at the back. An adapter.
Do you have a picture to show me? Sorry I'm abit confused.
Ek vra maar net, want hierdie draad laat my nou dink aan "Carrying coal to New Castle".
Beskikbaar by alle kamp winkels.

Nou verstaan ek. Baie dankie dat jy dit verduidelik het.
It is called a Fredlin Plug Adapter. Most camping shops have them.
I would not go for the dedicated round male 3 pin as no 1 in your photos. Then when you get to a camp ground with only 15 amp household 3 pin sockets you can not plug in.
Toe ons nog met tent gekamp het, het ek telkemale vergeet om die prop in te pak....gevolglik het ek tans 4x van hulle. 3x van hulle is nou in die nosecone van karavaan.....kon daarmee al n paar keer medekampeerders uithelp die naweek wat nie so een saamgeneem het nie. {So eintlik ry ek hom elke keer saam vir ander mense🤣}
Baia duur by die oorde. Hulle weet jy is desperaat.

Yes you're right. I have to buy the Fredlin plug if not I will be in a dilemma.
If you "click" on the "name" then you also see the persons actual name how it is registered on the system.

Thanks Hennie. I've been offline for a while due to the flooding in Kzn. Luckily we are safe and did not experience any damages. However we still do not have municipal water supply ever since, my in laws have a jojo tank so we've been filling up there and that's our source of water right now. Electricity had been restored just a few days ago so just trying to adjust. Accessibility is limited due to a bridge collapse down the road. Another bridge up the road is on the brink of collapse but it's still being used. Few roads away a house collapsed and two people have lost their lives. Vehicles are still being recovered from the river, so it's been abit hectic. Not the Easter I expected. 😅
I have tried rims of vw, toyota, ford and some other brands without any luck. Eventually phoned around and was referred to Natal caravan and marine in Pinetown. Once I explained to the sales agent what caravan it was and the PCD he said he did have them in stock, so I went ahead and purchased one to use as a spare. The rim for my caravan has a PCD of 140 (4 stud).
Is daai foto van die naweek🙀?
Jip, die einste.
Dit was ń nagmerrie en skrikwekkend.
