Just got back from camping for 4 days at Queensburgh Caravan Park. One of the best, cleanest parks around, not a leaf out of place. Management as friendly as ever and always checking that everything was alright. What great people and what a great caravan park.

Hi Marg,

When I was down in Durban last week, I had a look - Beautiful to say the least.

BUT, I would be worried that I may not be able to get my caravan out - I don't have any problems with hills - but having to pull away with that steep incline including virtually stopping at the speed humps would not be easy. I asked security if they could help me if it became a problem and got half an answer.

Regrettably, I will be looking at less nice places when I am down there again.

We have been there when the park is fully booked and not one caravan had a problem. We have been a few times to Queensburgh Caravan Park and nobody has ever mentioned the steep driveway in and out to be a problem. But if the matter did arrive they have a tractor that the owner uses to park caravans when they are left there. So that would solve the problem. Speak to the owners they are very friendly and would answer your question. ( The guard only lets people in and out, not informative)

I understand Marg - But, I am otherwise and different (difficult if you wish) - I wonder if there is anybody on the forum that tows with a smaller engine than I do - 1 248cc and then I may not have a big caravan, but certainly not the smallest nor lightest.

I agree, the guard has probably not encountered my question before - As you say, there is no way we can go there before communication with the offices.

We drove through and had a look around, including the ablutions - very nice, including the mountains surrounding - certainly worth considering.

Willie's bit.

I have been involved with Queensburgh Caravan Resort from the time Pieter and Corrie took it over more than ten years ago. (Maybe longer!)

When Pieter bought it, the park was a squatter camp. One look, and you drove straight out!

After many phone calls from Pieter, many visits to the park, many camps in Queensburgh, my little bit of advice for what it was worth, Queensburgh Caravan Resort gets my vote of approval as one of the best in the country today.

WELL DONE Pieter and Corrie!

We took delivery of the Fleetline two and a half years ago - went straight from Durban Caravans to Queensburgh to try it out!

Last year we took our newly aquired penta there for a trial, straight from Durban Caravans to Quensburg Caravan park. It is a great park, we keep saying that we will be going there more frequently just for an outing (5kms from home).

Queensburgh Caravan Park is 'n pragtige oord.

BIG TIME!!

Marg overlooked to mention that she and Neil were with us at a Trekkers laarger that weekend. We as a Club go there 3 times a year - our AGM in May, Christmas gathering in early December and one other weekend. Pieter and Corrie are superb hosts and always go out of their way to make us feel at home. It really is a magic park. Besides the tractor that Marg mentioned, Pieter uses a Hilux which often pulls a trailer around the park collecting rubbish etc. I am sure that if Dr Drake had made the effort to consult Pieter or Corrie about a perceived problem of getting his van out, he would have been put at his ease. I think it is unfair on the Park owners to mention a negative response from a security guard - after all that is what he is.

Silly me - I overlooked mentioning that since early last year Pieter and Corrie extended an invitation to us to spend Thursday night with them "on the house". This has now been extended to all Clubs provided there are 10 vans or more. Goes to show - support them, they support us.

I can only echo what Allan has said, Pieter and Corrie are the most accommodating hosts you could wish for, and are always ready to assist in any way. Incidently, one of our Trekkers Members used to pull his fairly large van with a Corolla 1.6 and he did it with ease at Queensburgh. Incidently again, I live less than a kilometre away from this Park, and love going there with the Club on Outspans, but you would never believe you were in a suburban area. Well worth a visit.
