I have to replace the 7 core cable on the caravan as it has been splice and is frayed - doesn't look nice.
The cable I have on the van is about double the thickness of anything I can get around here and the individual wires are a lot thicker.
Can I use the thinner wire? I am sur it is okay for the lights but I am concerned about the auxiliary as it doesn't look like a very high amperage for something like a 12v fridge.
What are the 7 wires for ?
It should be standard 7 Core cable for tail lights. Earth and Blue(Fridge) is thikker than other wires.
Kyk ook gewoonlik is dit gelas net na die Aframe van die wa.

I am assure the picture does answer your above mentioned question and what Ski explained, or do you require more pictures?
You will have to go to spares shop like MIDAS or Spareco if you want the correct thickness. I have previously attached the thinner one to a original thicker cable on my first boat trailer due to damage.
It realy worked perfectly. It is for the rear lights only. If you do however run a 12v compressor fridge of the spare terminal no2, I would suggest to use the correct thickness.
Okay - now I see the pictures and understand
How can you ask this Duncan. There is only one cable on a caravan that has 7 inner core wires.

Just to be sure Leon !!!!! Just to be sure.
Ek weet dat dit tyd is om dit te doen sodra jy die plug moet begin beweeg om al die ligte te laat werk. Gelukkig is hulle goed koop en kos dit mens maar net die tyd om dit te moet staan en doen.
I haven't been able to find the thicker wire to replace the existing wire with so I have bought the slimline version. I am changing the brake/indicator and main lights to LED bulbs anyway so the current drawn will be minimal.
