Man maar daai beddens lyk snoesig warm na die foto van die mis.
Enjoy dit lyk na 'n gemaklike wa om te sleep.
Geniet die nuwe wa.
Baie geluk en lekker kamp.
geniet hom en kamp gereeld.
Greate photos, thanks for sharing.
Congrats with the nice van hope you enjoy many camps.
Thanks so much for the well wishes! :) Paul, I remember that the lack of packing space was also mentioned in one of your posts - and must say that I have been pleasantly surprised with the amount of stuff that I have managed to get packed into it. Microwave, induction cooker, 2 plate gas stove and frying grids / plates, pots, pans, buckets, extra blankets, 2 fans, heater, 10 L water bottle, 5L water bottle, a box of chargers, lights, plugs, pleanty plates, cups etc.... porta-potty, bathroom bags, clothes, laptop, tablet, rummikub, card games, etc etc...and even a table - all inside the trailer - leaving the nose cone free for the awning and tent, picnic table and benches, pull out kitchen etc.....
Shaz enjoy every moment.
Thank you Theo and Dirk!
Mooi man, kamp laat die stof staan!!
Congratulations, looks very nice and easy to manage. Can those two beds shift together into a double for "binne-boud-le" ?
Thank you Andrew, Dewald, Johann and Colin / Freda. No the beds do not shift together, but at my request, they [at Skipper], did make me a triangle mattress to fill the gap to make it into one big bed for when our granddaughter is with us :) The beds are more angled than it appears in my photo as we have placed the delux self inflating mattresses that we used while tenting on top of the skipper mattresses, as they work really well for our backs.
Congrats with your new Skipper, may you have many happy camps with it.
Thank you Shaun, Chris, Piet and Andre :)
Thank you Chops! :) Yes, we have used it a lot - although, mostly without the awning and the tent - just pop up and pop down - so quick and easy - we love that :))) We chose our extras carefully and must admit there is nothing we added or didn't add that we have any regrets about. We took the rubber gaurd on the trailer, the potty door, 2 window panels and 2 door panels, the pull out kitchen and the multiroom for when the kids or our granddaughter camps with us. I really love the pull out kitchen workspace and we always use that. We added remote dimmer LED lights all the way across above the window over the cupboard on the inside [which is why we didn't want the hammock shelf] and also on the outside along the side of the roof, angled slightly downwards on the door side. Inside added a multiplug and a small battery that can run the lights if there is no power. Just above where the pullout kitchen clips on the trailer we added a weatherproof plug point and on the towbar side added a power-up socket. For the other end of the Oyster hubby made a 5 line clip on washline. We will probably add a small cupboard with its own door so it is not open to the wind and dust when the Oyster door is open, on the inside of the door, but not for crockery - we will build it when I have decided what I want to keep in it - lol - more than likely will be a closed spice rack. We removed the fridge and have one of those 'sitplek' storage blocks where the fridge used to be. Will try to post pics sometime.
I was wondering how the triangle mattress cut out ended up working for you? What did you use as support under the extra piece ?
Firstly I must congratulate you on your purchase, a fantastic choice, we wish you all the enjoyment ,fun and pleasure you imagined while waiting for your "Pearl" of a van.
We have enjoyed every moment spent in our Oyster and have visited 28 camps over the 3 years we have had ours. As you can tell from Chops' comments above, all Skipper owners seem to make several modifications and improvements as they go along, this is all part of its charm.
Good luck and happy camping.
Hello chops, good to see you are still reading and commenting on the forum. It would be great to finally meet you in the field some time to swap stories and mods on the Oyster.
Are you by any chance going to the Skipper rally at MacNicols next month ?
