Road Condition: Musina to KNP Pafuri Gate via Antonvilla Along the Limpopo
I am have reservations for SANPARKS and the KNP for July 2024.
We will travel from Mazhou to Musina and route via Antonvilla to the Limpopo river and travel along it to join up with R525 before heading to the Pafuri gate.
We will be travelling with two Land Cruisers (full diffs) and a Conqueror Commander.
Does anyone know of the current conditions of the road? Inehrently I will need to check again before we leave.
The magenta route is the one I am considering.

You obviously mean 2025 :) we last traveled that route 13 years ago from Tshipise to Punda Maria so my comments would be mute. Hopefully someone can give you an update. For the record the road conditions then were fine for an on–road van and not many potholes.
Interesting Shaun. We normally go via Tshipise. That road two years ago was fine for an on-road caravan. Very few pot holes and good tar surface. No trucks to break the road.

Paul

Thank you. Quite correct: 2025!

This route is not the Tshipise road.

Good day Shaun,
I was the Officer Commanding Soutpansberg Military area during the late 90's.
I assume you want to use the gravel road and not the Military road that used to be next to the electrified border fence (Non existant anymore)
The gravel road should still be OK as it is used by all the farmers bordering on the Limpopo to transport produce to market and back home.
I would suggest you drive during the day as the situation regarding smuggling and transborder movement during the night might be risky.
Good luck end enjoy.

Thank you. You are correct. It is the road the farmers use.

Shaun please also be aware of what I posted on the “KNP 2025” thread.
Groete,
Paul
Paul, thank you. I will go back to it and revert.

Can I ask that you be more specific as to what you were referring to in the post "SANPARKS Online Reservations: Number of Nights" which digressed to the number of vehicles per campsite.
One Life. Drive it!
About the buying of Mopanie wood on the side of the road.
Groete,
Paul
I stand to be corrected that this was not raised. Possibly another post?
One Life. Drive it!
Apologies for referring to it here.

Paul
