A few years ago we visited the Western Cape (West Coast National Park) our campsite turned out to be a disaster (that's another story). We found it hard last time to get any sort of camping in the area. Can you guys provide me with you experienced views on the best places to camp to easily access the West Coast National Park daily?
As we are probably coming with none campers as well a place with chalets and good camping facilities would be beneficial. Something not to large would also be an advantage.
Here's hoping in advance.
Yzerfontein would be my choice if i was planning your trip
Hi Tony you are not saying when so that it could make it easier for others to recommend some good camp places.
Yzerfontein has a lovely well-kept municipal park right on the edge of the beach behind a big dune and next to the sports/recreational club. There are a number of reviews on the park on here so you can decide for yourself but i can recommend it without hesitation.
It is also close to the West Coast National Park and places such as Darling and Langebaan.
We camped at Leentjiesklip in Langebaan Sept 2017.
Was reasonably kept and they were busy upgrading their main ablutionblock.
Better than some other municipal parks. They do have chalets as well, but looked like prefab housing.
This camp borders the beach and is close to to the Westcoast park.
By the way, we paid a minimal price with pensioner discount.
