Hi guys

I am planning a trip to SANParks Storms Rive Mouth Rest Camp in November. I haven't been to the rest camp so can anyone give some advice on which campsites? Especially looking at wind and trees etc?

Thanks

No trees in the campsites except for one or two which are situated in some bushes. I would guess they are very popular and not easily got. Wind is a given at the coast so don't let this worry you. If it is a no-no, it is better to stay away from the coasts. The ablutions are fine. You pay a bit more for the front row with uncluttered sea views but I don't think that is necessary as all stands are near the sea.  Camping is arranged in rows parallel to the cost and on high ground so that you look down on the sea. There should be plans of the camping areas on SANPARKS' website- have a look at that. Stands are all level and some, if not all, are paved.  November is not in a school holiday so the park should not be crowded.  Even if it is, is is quite pleasant. At the moment and probably at the time you will be camping there, overseas visitors arriving in many large touring buses so also the visitors area should not be over crowded.  That is the only negative in my opinion.

Ek wil self nog hier gaan inloer. Staanplekke werk op 1st come, 1st serve basis, maar jy kan wel kies of jy voor teen see wil staan of nie....kan gedoen word tydens bespreking by Sanparks. CK6CPV as jy voor teen see wil staan en CK6CP as jy in agterste rye wil staan

WAARSKUWING:

Kampeer is aansteeklik en verslawend 😁

We were at Stormsrivier 4 days ago! Beautiful place, beautiful area,. excellent ablutions (although water pressure were fairly low).

The stands as said before are priced differently -  R430 for a sea view, R390 without. Yet, we camped at the cheaper stands, escaped some (a little bit!) of the wind, and still had a lovely outlook per the sea.

Do yourself a favour and visit the Stormsriver Village (5 kilometres from the resort), and especially the "Taste" Restaurant. Lovely food and craft beer!

Thank you for everyone's feedback, I just heard 2nd hand that some people had issues with tents due to wind but not an issue for me. I would opt for seafront stands for the view. Really looking forward to our trip and will definitely visit the Stormsriver Village

Net ter inligting .... heelwat langstaners in Mosselbaai by De Bakke, Santos. In teenstelling hiermee het 2 verskillende kampeerders my meegedeel dat daar 2 weke gelede by 8 (!) karavane ingebreek is in een nag by ATKV Hartenbos.

Ook is die tariewe blykbaar goed - R2400 per maand vir 2 mense.

Hoop die inligting help!

We have camped there quite a few times. My favourite sites are 42 to 45. They all have stunning views of the sea. A bit further away from the main campsite which is near the pool and the main ablutions. However they do have their own small Ablutions block, which is hidden away right next to them. 43 is my favourite.
