10kms to the liter, not sure how much more i can get out of this tank [ 75L ]
3.2 4x4.This was however at a steady 100km / h with a little town driving and one off road mountain pass.
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

Pretty decent for a 3.2 4X4. I have to drive very conservatively to get more than 10 km per litre with my 3.2. Normal driving at 60 to 80 will give me up to 11 km/litre, but from 100km/h upwards it drops dramatically.

This was at a steady 100km/h , a little town driving and one off road mountain pass.
And its a manual.

I drove a 2 liter Ford Ranger bakkie for a few hundred kilos a few years ago when my Kuga was in for repairs. This was the base model and almost all kilos was on the N2 in the Southern Cape at a maximum speed of 100kph. The average at the time was 8km per liter or 12 liter per 100 km. I was not impressed. So your consumption is very good especially as it is a 4X4.

Ek ry @ 120-140 sonder die karavaan. Ek ry @ 120-140 met die boswa. Ek ry @ 110 MET die karavaan.

Sonder die karavaan kry ek ongeveer 7km/l

Met die boswa EN die karavaan kry ek 5,5 tot 6 km/l

Maar die verbasendste is dat ek in Botswana se diepste sand en modder feitlik nooit minder as 8 km/l kry nie.

Ek dink daai VIER LITER is te dom om te besluit watter verbruik hy moet gee.

Solo, unladen. never worked it out with the caravan in tow, buts its about a 100 k's less on a tank when the bakkie is loaded and caravan hitched.

I normally fill up @ NTK - Modimolle (Total).

Due to that we are Permies without towing: JHB to and Back (440km's), I use less than an a 1/4 - tank and that was to Wilgur hospital from Alberton and back to Alberton to PTA and back 2x.

With our last trip from JHB 2-weeks ago from my ear test @ the specialist, I only topped up @ Whooma in Jhb and can still go back with the same tank for my next appointment @ Wilgur.

According to my consumption meter = 5,2/100km @ travelling speed of 120km/hr.

Just remember, never ever trust you consumtion gauage??

That gauge has a small "Brain".

Gerrie, dit beteken op 'n voltenk sal jy meer as 1760 kilometer op 'n tenk kry.  Dis ongelooflik, en ek gebruik dit in sy letterlike betekenis.😁  Of bedoel jy dalk jy het na die hospitaal gery (220km) op minder as 'n kwart tenk?   Dit beteken meer as 880 kilos op 'n tenk.  Dis klink steeds goed maar so 'n berekening kan nie akkuraat wees nie.  Jy moet eerder wanneer jy volmaak, die aantal kilometers teenoor die brandstof wat jy ingooi, bereken.  Praat jy van 'n sedan voertuig of jou sleepvoertuig, wat ek aanvaar 'n bakkie is?  En hoe groot is jou tenk?

63lt tenk.

Ek kan jou bewys, my voertuig is nou 1xstrepie onder 3/4 na opvulling in JHB en dan moet jy ook onthou dat ons elke 2-de dag inkopies gaan doen wat nog ń 30km is.

Soos genoem: Nissan X-Trail 2,0 Dci - 2011 model.

ONGELUUKIG IS EK NIE Ń SPOEDVRAAT NIE.

AS MY SPOEDGRENS JOU IRRITEER, NEEM DIE RISIKO: PUNT!!!

As gevolg van die baie veranderlikes wat 'n invloed daarop het, het ek lank gelede al besluit om nie deel te wees van 'n brandstof verbruik vergelyking nie. Ek kon nog nooit spog met van die beter syfers nie.

Ek het die raad wat ek ongeveer 50 jaar gelede gekry het al hier gedeel. Ek was op soek na my eerste karavaan, en vra toe vir die verkoopsman hoe die betrokke karavaan my brandstof verbruik sou be-invloed. Sy antwoord was dat indien ek my daar oor sou kwel of dit gedurig sou wou dophou moet ek liewer nie 'n karavaan koop nie, want die verbruik sal my ongelukkig stem en die pret bederf. Ek streef nog steeds om my gesindgheid daarvolgens in te stel.

Destyds toe ek my Corolla vol gemaak het, het meter eers begin sak na 160km se ry....beteken nie dat hy niks petrol gebruik het nie

JISLAAIKIT! Ek weet darem nie. Ek het al baie van sulke stories gehoor, maar hierdie ene vat die koek. Ek kry 6,3 l/100 km met my 180 C Mercedes, en dit teen 120 km/u.  Ek is ook nie n spoedvraat nie, maar die dag wanneer ek amper 20km per liter kry gaan ek redelik tevrede wees.

Om te meet is om te weet.

Skeptiese ouens soos ek kyk na brandstof verbruik syfers en vra myself soms af, watter ideale omstandighede is nodig om sulke uitsonderlike syfers te verkry.

Mense gaan baie ligtelik met syfers om, sonder om akkuraat te meet. (Daar is 'n groot verskil tussen nagenoeg, omtrent, so om en by, in die omgewing van, sê maar , die naald-lesing sê sus en so, en om akkuraat,(verifieerbaar) te meet).

Vol tenk tot vol tenk beteken vir die een ou vandat die pomp afskop, vir die volgende ou totdat die brandstof uitloop, vir die volgende ou totdat die naald aan vol raak en vir die vierde ou tot die uiset volume (expansion tank) ook vol is. Hoe nou gemaak? 

Ek het na die veranderlikes verwys. Dit is maar vyf soorte metings, praat nie eens van verkeersdigtheid. weersomstandighede, hoogte bo seespiëel, vrag, banddruk en hoeveel ander veranderlikes nog die situasie kan be-invloed nie.

Ag nee wat, om soms hierdie onderwerp ernstig op te neem is soos om Vader Krismis storietjies vir die werklikheid te aanvaar, of om soos 'n klein kindjie die tannemuis storie te glo.

In die middel negentigs het ek my eerste GPS gekry, 'n ' Venture Etrex'. Toe ons by Kroonvaal Plaza wegtrek in Bloemfontein se rigting het ek het dit gestel om gemiddelde snelheid te meet asook huidige snelheid.  Ek het konstant probeer om 125 kph te ry, miskien so effens oor dit. Toe ons by Bloemfontein se eerste vulstasie langs die snelweg kom was ons gemiddelde snelheid net-net onder 120. Nou vra ek jou. Verstaan jy dat ek skepties ingestel is wanneer dit by gemiddelde snelhede en brandstof verbruik kom?
