How do i use this. Do i fill the bottom half with water so it is just below the sieve part in the middle that contains the coffee or must the water cover the sieve part?
How an Italian coffee maker works is easy. The boiling water from the bottom of the chamber makes steam. The steam reaches enough pressure to force the hot water up the funnel. The hot water goes through the coffee grinds and into the top chamber
Swanie do I just fill it to below the strainer.
Best coffee maker you will ever have!
Fill with bottom section with water to below the round brass pressure relief valve on the side. Ideally boiling (use cloth to hold).
Place strainer in. Loosely spoon ground coffee in the strainer (do not pack down else the water cannot pass through). You will have to experiment with grind coarseness if you use a grinder, not to fine, not to coarse). else the ground packets will do fine. I use about 6 heaped teaspoons.
Screw on top with cloth. Place on heat - remove as soon as it starts to sputter alot.

I have a 6 cup one and it makes 2 regular cups with ease (bit more heated milk, so technically a latte).
You can get the no-name brand ones from Checkers. Or juppychef if you can receive deliveries for the real one. I would recommend paying the extra for the bialetti if you plan to use it daily.
Terbodore Coffee in Howick sells various sizes.
Recommended! Good coffee and nice eats.
We have one like your Paul, given to us as a gift. A bit cumbersome to use. I prefer a French Press- simple efficient and good results. Nice to have a small one for each guest.
Pieteŕ, Martin we will try Terbadore if we are out that way. Are they in the road that goes past the museam and to the falls?
Will be a while till we are out that way, go to Mapumulanga , Blyde River etc and Kruger on 21st for 2 weeks.
