Has anyone done the Boviaans Kloof route from Patensie to Willow more ?  whilst researching google as much as i can , i'm always looking for first hand information before we go.

two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

In 2014 we spent a month in and around Baviaans and have write ups of more than 10 camping sites in the area. Have a look under Patensie and Willowmore.

Have photos of some of them and will load on our website if requested.

Hi flip, thanks will check your reviews out, we looking at leaving the caravan here at big fish and staying at a b an b for at night . Photos are always appreciated. We looking at traveling from patensie to willowmore in 1 day, staying overnight at willowmore then coming back the next day via steytler. We were going this coming week but good rain is forecasted so will go the week after.

If at all possible, visit the Darlington dam. Boootiful!

Where are you going to stay in Willowmore? Visit the restaurant, have a real British tea. See the interesting decor.

Probably the last of two concrete roads in South Africa, from Willomore to Steytlerville- quite an adventure to drive.  Die road is wide enough for only one car.  If you have pass another car coming towards you, both drive off the road with the  left wheels and pass each other with centimeters to spare. The other one I know of, is the one near Calitzdorp from Oudtshoorn and past the spa, but that one is much wider so two cars can pass each other comfortably. Steytlerville is on the so called Noorsvlakte because of the many Noorsbome a spiky succulent, , in the area,

Not booked anything, we going to play it by ear. we might spend some more time in the reserve in which case we will stay over in the reserve, will see where we are come mid afternoon, its midweek out of season so dont expect stay overs to be full.

Is Steytlerville also the town where family coat of arms are fixed to the light poles?

I drove that concrete road many years ago.
