I have not noticed any chat around the 70% limitation.

So if you drive a single cab bakkie, the registered capacity is 2. Therefore only 1 person may visit in it.

A vehicle with 5 capacity may only have 3 people.

So our old Prado with 7 actual seats, was registered to have 5 passengers, can only have 3. Which is the same as my little BMW 118.

Also consider the 'nuclear family of 2 adults and 2 children' who may stay together but can't travel in most vehicles in Sanparks.

And a 4 seater, if there are such vehicles, may carry 2.

Just to qualify, it is the Department of Transport's regulation that Sanparks is echoing.

A friend of mine who lives in Riebeeck Kasteel went with his wife still under level 4 or 5 to Wellington (about 30km away) to do shopping in their single cab bakkie. They got stopped in a roadblock and the cops made her climb into the backsealed.

WAARSKUWING:

Kampeer is aansteeklik en verslawend 😁

I contacted the West Coast National Park and they do not have the 70% restriction.

Thanks for feedback Max.

Does one have to book for a day visit? Are there entrance quotas?

No booking is required, don't know about the quotas. We intend to visit tomorrow, so I can give feedback afterwards.

Hi, I have read that only the gate on the Langebaan side is open though.

Also that the Postberg section is not opening this year and that is always where the best flowers are to be seen.

We went to the WC National Park today. No quotas and no restrictions on vehicle ocupants. Both gates are open. You may however not leave your vehicle, so no hiking or even picknicking. We had to eat our lunch in the car, as they are patrolling. The bright side is that you don't have to pay the conservation fee, so entry for 4 people was R255.

Thanks for the feedback Max. Could you enter the Postberg section?

How were the flowers?

Richard

We did not see many flowers as the Postberg section was closed. Due to the good rains, the bush is very lush and green, so you don't see many animals either.
