We have not camped at Mount Splendour but have explored the valley where it is situated. Agree with you, the valley has a lot to offer. Falcon Ridge is a must and don't forget Drakensberg Boys Choir's weekly performance. On our next trip to the berg we will stay there instead of Drakensville.
My buurman gaan elke skool vakansie daar na toe en my al baie vertel.
Wou nog altyd daar gaan kamp.
We stayed other in 2013 mainly to go see the Drakensberg Boys Choir. Was wonderful, do the still have the bike shop on site ?
Of course Dragon Peaks Mountain Resort is a stones throw from the school as well.
No bike shop at Mt Splendour that i saw.
Did not like Dragon Peaks, to built up but the restaurant was pleasant.
We attended a Radical Raptor show in Plettenberg Bay. It is realy worth the time. Will do it again best change I get.

They must have closed the bicycle spares shop down. They used to rent out mountain bikes there.
I wanted to camp at Mountain Splendour as well when we visited the Drakensberg but I think we would pay over R900 per night over December which is was a shock as we could camp for half the price everywhere else around the place. I am sure they are top class though but I can camp twice as long just around the corner and still enjoy the mountains.
Maybe one day.
Hope to go there in the near future. Been planning for it but YES. Things at work must first stabilize then I make a plan for a week or so.
The rates for pensioners was R87pp low season,R125 mid season and R180 high season. Can't give non pensioners rates as do not know.
