G'day Survivalist!
Do you have an offroad caravan? If so, Grootvadersbosch may be an option (east of the Tradouws Pass road). It is a Cape Nature Reserve so unless you have a wild card, there will be a conservation on top of your tariff. Bontebok NP with conservation fee (5kms outside Swellendam on the Breede). Other than Kambati, there's Witsand (windy!), Swellendam Municipal Park (in the town), Riggton and Bonnievale Lodge (both in Bonnievale and on the Breede), all within about a 30-40 km radius from Swellendam itself. Personally I would recommend Bonnievale Lodge or Bontebok. Chris Boucher could probably advise you better; he is familiar with this territory for caravans. I am a tenter, so your needs may differ from mine. Google all these places, they all have their own websites. Good luck and enjoy!

Swellendam Municipal Park (in the town), is where we have stayed here and had no real complaints. Think the prices were also very reasonable.
Kambati was a lot more expensive, if I remember correctly...

In that area,
I dont have a recommended camp site except waenhuiskrans at Arniston, but may be a little far from Swellendam.
In Swellendam is a vefy nice restaurant... think.. "oppie stoep."
And do'nt miss out on the little towns arround. Greyton. Napier.
Awesome
I love camping all year round

Stayed in a chalet on the way back from the Garden Route in 2008. There was plenty of shade for vans/tents an d the park has had a subsequent upgrade. Campervan is right. No website photos for campsites but may be worth giving them a ring for tariffs and pensioners' rates etc. Bredasdorp (Arniston) may be a bit of a schlep with the gravel roads as well as the wind!

Camp till the wood runs out or the wheels come off!

Edge, When last did you camp at Swellendam municipal park?  We used to enjoy this very scenic park but were disappointed at the deterioration the last time we were there.  I do hope I can deduct from your contribution, that this has improved?  They also have Cape Dutch style cabins.

Lance, Ihave heard good things from Kambati but have not been there myself.  We have camped at the Bontebok park a few times and the standard is very good and the camp very pleasant.
