hi john, without sounding like the prohit of doom ,this is my experience with the said vechile, a college of mine at work has one and has had it for a number of years now, its downside is the gearbox, its a toyota gearbox coupled to an isuzu engine, not of local content,  meaning both units were not fitted to any toyota or isuzu vechile distributed in this country. i tried to fit a local box to no avail, i stripped a local box once to swap the internals also to no avail, the problem with the original box is that the teeth on the gears appear to be to brittle and chip or brake of, and its not prone to any gear in particular, the first time it was 5th gear, the second time it was 1st gear and just recently it was no 2, i have done the box three times in as many years, unfortunitly the parts from the dealers are of the same import quality as the originals, if you were to encounter any of the above i would not do a repair, i would swop the box out for a local isuzu box, it will be cheaper in the long run. other then that he loves his vechile, done a little over 200.000 kms now and he wont part with it.

john, wilst the 4y motor is indeed a very good motor , i would not swop the motor out, those old school isuzu motors are bullet proof, i have maintained one for a customer that turned over half a million kilometes some time ago and apart from servicing the pump and injectors the engine is still untouched. regulaur ten thousand km oil and filter change is the key here amongst other routine service items. apart from the box they are solid isuzu most places under the skin and realy are good value for money.
