We are planning a trip to Mossel Bay for next year middle March, Swambo fell in love with the location of these two parks in Mossel Bay area when we were driving past. My dilemma is which caravan park to book.We are planning least 10nights in the area.
Can the camping folks assist in decision making?

We have camped once at The Point.   The Point is in a very busy area.  Most of the sites are quite far away from the ablution blocks.  There is very little shade.  We were not overwhelmed by the resort and have never been back.  But there are many people who love it and keep going back.

We have never camped at De Bakke but had a good look at it.  There are enough trees for shade and it has the best view of the ocean.

At this stage, if we had to choose between the two, we would prefer De Bakke.

We enjoy that area but during the last 3 years we preferred to camp at Dibiki in Hartenbos.

We camped at de bakkes in Feb.2017. We would highly recommend it. Lots of shade,on the beach the security was excellent ablutions old but clean. It is a matter of time before the crowds find this gem!!

Rowan, de Bakke has been going for many years so I think anybody camping at Mossel Bay knows it.  I rather think most people prefer the Point because is feels much more out of the hustle and bustle and as was said, there are several very nice restaurants and a nice beach. de Bakke certainly has nice shade but the very busy main road next to the camp seems to me a bit negative.  But every one has his/her own idea of what the ideal camp should be.  Good advice above to try both.

Mawonga, do let us know how you found whatever camp you choose and your impressions afterwards.
