I wonder if Sanpark full couple membership will pay off, I have no experience.

In May we will visit Baviaanskloof Park for 5 nights,Wilderness Ebb and Flow 5 nights, Mountain Zebra 3 nights, Addo Elephant 3 nights.

During the next year we will probably visit Ezimvilos Cobham nature reserve about 3 times of 4 nights and probably Kruger Park about 5 nights.

I would also like to do Esemvilo Wetland park for 5 nights.

The couples membership costs R1055.

It work for us. Visit Kruger for 10 days and it's cheaper with full membership.

Find out the conservation fees, but for the 16x days you going to visit during May only, think it will be worth it

Paul, the all clusters card definitely works for us.   We are visiting KNP from 3 to 17 Jun this year.  We have been to Mokala near Kimberley earlier this year.   Whilst driving through the Southern Cape we popped in at some of the SanParks areas.

Look where it is accepted - Ezemvelo in KZN, Big Game Parks in eSwatini, SanParks, Cape Nature and Mzinzi (in your backyard).    If you add the daily conservation fees up, then you can decide which is cheaper - pay each time or flash a card.  I would rather flash a card.

If you are frequent travellers and campers, then the card will save you money.

Geniet en groete

Thanks guys, have been retired 3 years but not really travelled much apart from Cobham every 3-4 months and Bazeley. Now we have the new Skipper with its queen size bed instead of a 3/4 bed i am keen to travel.

My better half likes game reserves which i find boring, and Ezemvilo game parks dont have camp sites. So its time to travel if the budget allows, which is a consideration for pensioners.I prefer to sit and look at the mountains and do short walks to river pools.

As has been indicated look at the fees you will have to fork out. I feel it works for me going to KNP for more than x days and can visit other parks. Conserv fees has been a big chunk of total cost to camps.

I would say definitely!

Adult conservation fees range from R 38.00 per adult per day in the Knysna Section of the Garden Route to R 100.00 pr day in Kruger!

Do the Maths!

Google National Parks Conservation Fees and there are lists.

Our 6 nighter In Kruger next month will pay for the card.

Don't forget that if you haven't received the card by the time you leave, show them your membership letter and it gets you in.

For us it mostly works, but if we don't break even, it does not matter.  What I like about it is that once you have paid, you do not consider the rands and cents before deciding whether you are going to enter a park.  For instance, we would probably not pay the R95 per person to enter the Cape Point reserve if we only had an afternoon available but with the card there is no question.  Anyway, seven days in Krger covers the twelve months' cost so all the rest of the visits are bonusses. Once you have paid the fee, you forget about the cost of the card and just enjoy the parks that comes across your path. The Bafianskloof reserve by the way, falls in the Eastern Cape which the card does not cover.  I think Eastern Cape is about the only province's parks which is not covered, besides the national parks.  You also do not need to regularly update the card.  Sometimes our year pass and we just leave it until we again want to enter a a park and then pay the fee for the next twelve months.  The card does not lapse when the annual fee runs out. We pay for the full number of clusters as it is not much more expensive than paying for selected clusters only anyway.

I wonder whether you needed to order the card beforehand. I rather think you could have obtained one at the first park you happen to visit- or am I wrong?
