The fact that the light comes on tells me that the fuse in the plug is still fine.  See if there is maybe another fuse just for the compresor side. If not the power is comming through but stops short of the compressor. Use a multimeter set it on volts and confirm that there is power al the way to the compresor.

If the power is there the compresor is at fault. If not you should follow the power from the plug-in and test where ever you can to check where is the brake.

The power should go to a thermostat before it goes to the compressor and even this could be the problem.

Best is try to find out where the power stops if it's not going al the way to the compresor.

I might suggest something simple.

Check whether your thermostat switch inside the fridge is not in the off position.

Not sure whether this will be a compressor stopper, logic says it may be.
