When my aircon  has been running for a while it starts dripping water inside coming from the right hand side under the machine. Can anyone tell me. Why this is and what I can do to resolve this.. Thanks.

Is it a split unit or the old one piece?

Split unit with the motor in the front where the spare wheel normally goes.

The inside unit will have a drain pipe to discharge water that may condensate inside. The pipe may be loose or blocked. Also check if the screens are not dirty as this may also cause the problem. Lift the front cover up and they slide out. Was them and replace when dry.

Drain pipe or van was at slide angle that caused water (Condensate) not able to gravity feed drain.

Note Dirty filter can also cause it.

Split type air conditioner drains are normally in the right hand side of the unit and if the unit leaks water the drain can be blocked. The easy way is to blow on the end of the pipe and normally the slime will blow out and then slide outwards. Don't suck on the pipe you will get some nasty slime in your mouth.laughing

Thanks for the help. I have found the probable cause which is that the van may not be exactly level. So I will rectify this, and try again.

Actually , after leveling the van the problem seemed to go away. However after an hour or so it started again. I will call the people who fitted it in jhb, their sticker is on the unit next week and will feed back how I resolve this.
