Tiger Fishing Guma Lagoon 15-21 October 2022
The incredible beauty of nature itself, the adrenaline rush when a tiger fish is on the line and the night sounds of wild animals in the distance when you go to bed are just the background to an opportunity for you to fish the Okavango Delta during its annual barbel run (migration).
Itinerary
Day 1 - Maun
Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm. If you arrive early, get out and explore the surroundings of Maun; often referred to as the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Perhaps visit the only craft brewery in town (Okavango Craft Brewery) or grab some final essentials at one of the shopping centres.
After the welcome meeting, you will head out for dinner and get to know each other better.

Key Information
It’s imperative that you attend the welcome meeting as essential information will be shared regarding the trip; departure time, route to be travelled, two-way radios to be handed out, etc.

Day 2 - Guma Lagoon
We depart after an early breakfast and make our way towards Etsha 6. For those who travelled without a 4x4 vehicle, transport will be provided from Etsha 6 to Guma Lagoon.
On arrival at Guma Lagoon, you will be allowed to set up camp and enjoy the incredible view from the wooden deck overlooking the Guma Lagoon; the largest lake inside the Okavango Delta.

Key Information
The road condition between Maun and Etsha 6 are filled with potholes. A 4x4 vehicle is not required, but high clearance vehicle is essential. Transport will be provided from Etsha 6 to Guma Lagoon for those not travelling with a 4x4 vehicle. All meals at Guma Lagoon will be prepared by the travelling chef.

Day 3, 4, 5 - Guma Lagoon
We depart after an early breakfast and make our way towards Etsha 6. For those who travelled without a 4x4 vehicle, transport will be provided from Etsha 6 to Guma Lagoon.

Key Information
This is the reason why you joined this experience - yep it is fishing time. The next three(3) days are totally dedicated to hunting the barbel runs from where we will fish for the tiger fish that's chasing after the small baitfish.
Lunch will be enjoyed each day on an island around noon.

Day 6 - Maun
Departure takes place after breakfast and when all vehicles are packed and ready. For those not travelling with a 4x4 vehicle, transport will be provided to your vehicle at Etsha 6.
From Etsha 6 we will return to Maun with new memories to be shared at the Departure Celebration Dinner.

Key Information
Departure from Maun will not be too late as we have to first make our way back to Etsha 6 through the sandy roads and then the pothole-filled road to Maun. Depending on the COVID regulations, some might be required to do a COVID test in Maun on arrival.
The evening we will enjoy a Departure Celebration Dinner and share stories on the experiences we collectively had.

Day 7 - Departure Day
Your experience has come to an end with everyone departing to their next destinations, or back home.

Various additional add-on opportunities are available for those who wish to extend their stay in Botswana for a few more days before heading home.

No eating utensils nor cooking equipment is required. Meals when in Guma Lagoon will be prepared by the travelling chef. Meals in Maun will be at the restaurant.

2 x Luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms when in Maun
4 x Camping when at Guma Lagoon (you are to supply your own camping equipment required; tent, bedding, etc.)
Transport
This is a self-drive option and no transport is provided.
No 4x4 is required, but a high clearance vehicle is strongly recommended.
For those not travelling with a 4x4, return transport from Etsha 6 to Guma Lagoon will be provided. Vehicle to be parked in a safe and secure space.
