Deep within the shadows of the dense valley bushveld of the Sundays River region of the Eastern Cape lies the Addo Elephant National Park. The Park is situated 72 km North from Port Elizabeth in the Sundays River Valley and Zuurberg Mountain range. The caravan and camp sites with communal ablution and kitchen facilities are equipped with 220V power points, and a swimming pool for resident visitors only. The park also offers a range of self catering units from forest cabins to chalets to luxury guesthouses. There is a picnic area for day visitors as well as a restaurant, serving a-la-carte meals and light refreshments, and a shop where curios and basic commodities can be purchased. This finely tuned ecosystem is sanctuary to over 450 elephants, 350 cape buffalo, black rhino, lions, leopards and many antelope species.

Park Attractions:

Horse trails depart from main camp to the Nyati area that is home to elephants, buffalo, black rhino, zebra and antelope. Visitors can explore the wildlife area in their own vehicles, with the option of a “hop-on” guide. Guided Game Drives that consist of day, sunset and night drives of approximately two hours in duration are on offer, led by knowledgeable, qualified guides on open-top landrovers. Ride the Bedrogfontein 4x4 trail between Kabouga and Darlington and immerse yourself in breathtaking views and early 20th century history. Horse trails and hiking trails are available in the Zuurberg Mountains. The main game area boasts a list of 170 bird species, while the expanded park may contain as many as 450 species in a diversity of habitats.
