Snorkelling spots can be found at nearly every beach and there are daily boat trips to various reefs and dive sites for both scuba diving and snorkelling.

Tropical palm-lined beaches offer sun-filled days of swimming, surfing, snorkelling, fishing and just enjoying the warm Indian Ocean water.

From July to September dolphin and whale watching is a favourite and a boat trip to see these marine mammals is a must.

Seafood seems to be the staple diet of most tourists; fresh prawns, fish, calamari, clams and crayfish can be bought from the local fishermen.

Markets selling everything from fruit, vegetables and fresh bread to wine, clothing and curios can be found on nearly every corner and most vendors are willing to barter.

Travelling Tips

Entry Requirements
All visitors entering Mozambique must hold a passport that is valid for at least 6 months.  Visas are required for certain countries.  Please contact our nearest travel agents for up-to-date information regarding this.

Currency
Mozambique's currency is the Metical.  Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club and credit cards are accepted at most places.

What to bring
Summers are very hot - lightweight cotton clothing and a lightweight jacket.  Winters are mild, yet cold in the early evening and monrings - trousers, long-sleeved shirts, pullovers and a very warm jacket.  Comfortable walking shoes and sandals/slops.  Sunhat, sunscreen and after-sun.  Malaria precautions, insect repellent, lip balm, water purification tablets and a basic first-aid kit.
